A 3G phone is not supposed to have 2 cameras ?
Thx for the info.

There's no 'rule' that states 3G phones need to have *any* cameras. Of course if video calling is your thing its important. But for high speed data connection, a camera is not necessary.
The 6630 does have just the one, a very fine 1.3 Megapixel camera. For video calling you can get a stand to connect the 6630 to which has a camera on to enable a video call.
Ok.... hummm is there any nokia phone with 2 cameras ?
I think most ppl like to use 3G for video calling ...
I find that really interesting. From experience and comments of other users the majority I owuld suggest view video calling as some kind of gimmick, and the novelty soon wears off within a week or two.
As for a Nokia with two cameras, there are none. Will be shortly, apprently a new 3G Nokia is due which does incorporate two cameras.
Thx for the info, u dont know the model of the new 3g phone ?
Video calling.... hmmmm
Got a video call stand with my 6630
Used it a couple of time the first day I got it.
Now it's used as a flash looking deskstand.
I don't think video calling will be much of a hit - the first thing my Mrs said when she saw it was "Oh.. well don't bother calling me on it! how do I turn it off!"
I think the video call aspect will be used more with the upcoming 'video shortcodes'
Simply video call to a short code to watch football updates etc.. as you watch the video you are billed .55p a min to pay for the video.
Will be big in the adult market no doubt.
You guys can see a demo by video calling to 62751 - thinks it's a 'buffy' episode, only tested on '3' so far but may work on other networks.

maybe the Nokia 6680,or there are some info about 6630i with more internal memory and equipped with the second camera...
i think, that videocalling is not the most important feature of 3G,maybe ots good to use it for some week, but high data speed is more important...
and i think, that the video stand is a good idea, because most of the people may videcall from their home or office, and its more comfortable to use it in this way...
Again thx for all the info...

I take it there is a cost for calling that short code? Is that charged at 55p per minute?
I agree that video calling could take off in the adult market - the adult industry always seems to put new technology to good use!
People have 'sex' chats with wives, girlfriends, send pictures of themselves via MMS, etc. But as a main form of communication, I don't see video calling ever being the norm. It can have it's uses, but they are limited.
If I were to ever use video calling it would be along the lines of "See what I see" which is what the 6630 offers.
Not sure if there is a cost implication on that shortcode yet as it's only a demo.
You can watch Eastenders on 62752 & BBC news on 62750
At the moment they are only pre-recorded clips as they are in demo mode too.

Video calling is the biggest gimmick of them all... I know loads of people with 3G phones (mainly due to 3's rock bottom pricing), and not a single one has used video calling more than a couple of times. Most have never even bothered trying.
And they want how much for it? 50-odd pence a minute??? Fark right off.
The only thing I for one am interested in with 3G is the data speeds when used with a laptop. Even for stuff like browsing on the handset with Opera or whatnot it's wasted.
Although if I had a price plan with inclusive video call minutes, I'd certainly be having a few one-to-ones with the missus, shame to let em go to waste eh 😉

good ideas at all 😃 oh no... i have to wait for 3G a year,or a bit more... 🙄
The only benifit of 3g imo is high speed data but the networks are goiong to milk that pot as much as they can with sky highdata proces and video calling prices.
It will be at least a couple of years before it rearlly takes off due to cost and lack of 3g coverage and handsets

hm... 😃
Well maybe 2 years is a slight exageration but camera phones were out a good year ebfore they rearlly started taking off ditto WAP. As already stated it will be unlikly that video calling will rearlly take off while it costs 50-60p a minute.
