Can some one please help me set-up the instant messenger service on the nokia 6630 or even better direct me to a URL. Im trying to use MSN for this however not having much luck. I have also tried the Vodafone IM service however this does not seem to have any settings for the phone. I have spoken to Vodafone and they are as helpfull as a boiled egg.

Cheers

Hi,

Why use 3rd party applications, such agile messenger when you can use the new Wireless Village protocol?

Those other kind of applications take much more bandwidth because they were not conceived for mobile use...

The nokia 6630 comes with the IM application that allows you to use IM no matter which medium is being used (MSN, Yahoo, etc). Not only that, but I believe you can set it up to start with you phone (automatic login), so that you are always online... ofcourse then you should be careful with you monthly bill.

Anyway, I have been using it with the yamigo free service (www.yamigo.com), although I have been having some troubles seing otherpeople online, but I have not played with it much, because of the GPRS monthly charges in my country (quite $$$).

But check it out, I believe this is what you are looking for

Agile messenger is an app designed for mobile use, allowing connection to MSN, Yahoo, AOL, and ICQ. Bandwith use is very low, I've never used much in conversations. Even the other day when I took a pic on the phone and sent it to an MSN contact using Agile the bandwith was only around 350k and that included the conversation too. Agile is a MUST HAVE app for any symbian phone.
