Which network for 6630?

Hi peeps
I don't yet own a 6630, but want one.

I was just wondering if you could give me some expert advise on what netwrok to go with. I am with o2 and happy with the reception etc so wouldn't mind staying with them, but buying an unblocked phone is provng quite pricey at the moment.

Can anyone recommend a network? Thanks!

hi, the 6630 is avail free on some networks, I am with vodafone but they have disabled the MP3 ability on their 6630's and only supply a 32mb mem card, although they do supply the stand also their phones are heavily branded and locked to vodafone.

T-mobile have not disabled any functions but they are heavily branded and locked to T-mobile

Orange have not disabled any functions and their phones are not as heavily branded but locked to orange

IMO its best to check each networks price and also check the network coverage in yr area as not all networks have the same coverage in the same areas.

hope this helps 😃

...and apparently the ones on O2 are unbranded and unlocked, at least the ones bought from onestopphoneshop.com are. Shame O2 is such a shite network.

And you live where???

UA

Been with O2 for 2 1/2 years, lived in N Yorks/ Scottish Highlands/ Oxfordshire and travelled extensively and I've never had a problem with reception. Better than Orange at any rate.

I've never had any problems with O2. Orange customer services were slightly better but that's not a critisism of O2. Just got 6630 on O2 free (+ 20 cashback) from One Stop Phone Shop today. Seems ok but difficult to tell - less than a day.

Not sure how it'll work when O2 finally switches on their 3G though.

If its liek the other networls 3g offerings you should find that your phone will just switch over to the 3G signal at some point and you will see it on your handset.

woould you be so kind and do not attach that picture with my IP anymore ? :icon13:

Its not an attachment its a Signature and it uses nothing more than data that your browser supplies when it requests anything be it an image, webpage or anything else. It doesent show your IP to everyone and will show the IP of whatever IP address your currently using.

If your that worried that im some how magically stealing your IP address then I suggest you do some research into how the internet actually works or go and winge to places like http://www.whatismyip.com/

please refrain from personal insults. remember, some people are new to the internet/forums etc.

thanks

I think Personal Insults was a bit harsh maybe light sarcasm but you will be amazed at the people I get that acuse me of hacking thier pc when similar signatures have been around for ages.

This is the second time hes spammed a topic bumping it to the top with nothing to add except the same phrase.

Anyway back to topic had a play with the Orange one today once you have changed themes like the Vodafone one and changed the cover you cant tell its Orange at all (other than the locking of course but thats due course) and no MP3 restrictions which is always good.

I dont think I will be renewing my Vodaofne contract at the end of the year.

Regarding the off-topic topic above: In the "User CP" area you can in "Edit Options" (and "Thread Display Options" there) turn off displaying of people's signatures by unchecking the "Show Signatures" box. Reduces page clutter, reduces page download time, reduces server load and bandwidth consumption, too.

o.k. point taken.
i used to have the same type of signature myself so i know how it works but what i was saying was other people wouldn't know about it so it would be better to explain it to them nicely. (i see you edited your post to remove the comment so thank you)

just to get back on topic.

i've just recieved a 6630 off e-bay & its locked to t-mobile. i can't find any faults with it (so far) other than the network restriction. thats only a problem because i'm an o2/orange customer. i have to agree with madasaroo, i find that o2 seem to be a good network as far as price & coverage go but orange do seem to have the best customer service i've experienced it the last 4 years.
