Hi,
does anynbody have instructions/tips on how to disassemble/dismantle the
Sendo X?
I am still struggling with the microphone problem (people can't hear me), and
loosening the screws slightly and tightening them again does not seem to have
the same effect anymore.
I would like to open the unit completely and try to repair it myself. I don't want
to send it in since it is probably gonna take 2 months or more until I get it back,
and in that time the unit will be outdated anyway. I don't give a S**T about
voiding the guarantee on the unit, but I don't wont to brake it.
So if anybody have detailed description I will be happy. What do I need of tools
beside the torx T6 screwdriver. Especially where the fastening-clips that keep
the chassis together are located.
Is it sufficient to remove the screws alone? I have tried so, but the pieces still
seem to be stuck together.
Thank you
Hi
Im also interested. I made the " screws trick" but it doesnt work anymore.
Id like to get access to the microphone to see if theres some problem with it.
Sending to fix it is not an option. In Spain the official service gives me always at least 1 month to give an answer to any problem!!!
CU!
I get the same problem on the latest voda firmware as well.
It seems if u should really loud or blow down the mic it works but talking normally doesnt. everytime i need to use my phone i have to use the headset.
Ive had the phone apart, heres how u do it:
1) remover the back cover and battery and remove the screws
2) gently slide a finger nail into the bottom round edges of the front phone cover and slide yur nail to the top of the phone, do this on both side. it is really easy to take the cover off and put it back on, it hinges at the top of the phone, so slightly push the cover forward to lift it off
3) remove the 2 screws located at the top of the phone above the screen, this will release the speaker which prety much falls of when the screws are out
4) well thats as far as i got cos the headphone cover would not budge cos it is attached to the inside and im not going to pull on it incase it snaps
Well I finally got into the phone and im very shocked to find that the phone is not stereo at all!!!!!!!!
Its just 1 speaker channeled into 2 compartments.
The microphone is situited in the back cover of the phone and not on the main bored of the phone, its on the bottom left corner.
Hope that helps, now time to put it back together!
Hi man, thanks for the input, gonna find my screwdriver and start
the "surgery" asap...
Did you manage to loosen the microphone and reinstate it so that
the microphone works better now?
BTW! Did I understand you correctly that you finally managed to
completely open the phone? (remove the headphones output?)
Adam the phone outputs stereo through the headset/handsfree/output socket. I dont believe they even claimed stereo speakerphone operation 😊
Cheers for the disection information. My replacement phone seems to have zero problems so far ( last one had a totally dead mic ).

I agree with Adam, I was also under the impression that the phone had Stereo output from the "dual chamber" super-duper-extra-special sound system of the Sendo X. There has been so many dissapointments for me with this phone, that
I don't know where to begin!
But hey, I just need some help to get this microphone fixed so that I can survive until the Nokia 6680 arrives.
So if more people know how to go about and fix it, let me know!!!
Adam, DID you??? 😊
What Adam said about taking the phone apart is basically correct. Once you've taken all 6 screws out, there's nothing much left holding the phone together.
Do be careful with the speaker's dual port ducting, as it's held on by a flat cable, and once un-clipped from the main circuit board has a tendancy to fall off.
Aslo, be careful when putting the keyboard back in, it's very easy to get it trapped, which causes it to not work as well. 😞
Remember, ALL OF THIS VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY!

Yeah i really should have warned that it does VOID YOU WARRENTY, if u have no clue about the inside of a phone then please dont bother! i was really charmed at the way sendo have put theres together, seems so simple!
so far the mic works, it must be down to the fact its not "hard wired" to the phone, its connected just like the earpiece, thus being connected like the battery does with 2 copper ends and maybe it just needed cleaned to make better contact with the main board.
Well, good news, I managed to disassemble my X totally, I loosened
the microphone, cleaned the contact surface on the motherboard, put
everything back together, and now finally the microphone is working
as it should have from the beginning!
People now say they hear me as good as never before, and now the voice
recognition seem to work as well..
I am gonna put out pictures of the operation soon if somebody are
interested.
:icon14: 😉
I'd like you to post pictures please, it would be a great help if ever I need to open it.
I am really astonished to hear that sendo x never had a stereo speaker system.I am not gonna buy it anymore.
I jsut checked out the website. It says unique dual port speakers not speaker.that means the phone must have stereo.I just questioned sendo o nthe website about it.

I am sorry to dissapoint you man, buth bot Andy and I now have opened the
phone, and I can confirm that the Sendo X DOES NOT have stereo speakers
built in.
Sendo has dissapointed me in many ways with the way they have (are) been
marketing this phone in contrast to how it is performing.
If you listen real close, you can even hear that it is mono, I tried with a
sound-track that shifted a lot from left to right speaker, and you simply
can't hear that happen on the SPEAKER on the Sendo X.
It's DUAL PORT, not DUAL SPEAKERS!
As far as I know, this has never been questioned! The stereo part is the HEADPHONES!
I'll take some photos some time to show you all

Mr. stuclarck you can put this anyway you want, but you can not protect
Sendo for having misled people in their marketing of this overpraised
mobile phone!! It is not weird everybody thinks that the phone has
Stereo speakers at all due to the wording in Sendo's marketing!!
If I had the time and resources I would consider taking Sendo to court
for misleading marketing!!!
The whole phone pisses me off and almost everything about it is a huge
dissapointment!! The more you expect, the more dissapointed you get
when you discover the truth! Sendo raised the expectations themself!!
So they must also accept people being really pissed off and dissapointed
with the Sendo X!!!
PS! Read the thread about Nokia's marketing of the 3230, with
"Stereo FM Radio & MP3 player"..
Everybody thinks the 3230 has Stereo, but it has NOT. The way it is
worded "Stereo FM Radio & MP3 player" can clearly have two meanings.
I get the same feeling with Sendo's marketing of the super-duper-extra-
terrestrial-mega-phenomenal-allmighty-symbian phone with STEREO,
dual chamber, audio DSP etc.....
Now after three months of use even the paint on the keys are falling of,
I won't even be able to sell it for a decent price! And this is my second
unit, the first unit wouldn't even read memory cards. And I had to open
the unit myself to fix the microphone. Ridicilous!
😡
i agree with mesus
i keep getting disapointed with the phone nearly every week something else goes wrong! it is a good phone but its falling apart!
The paint on mine is falling off all because the buttons are small and u have to use yur nails to press the buttons.
Altogether i like the phone but its just anoying to find so many things wrong with it all th time!

The speakers are great as far as I can hear but if you've got to clamp the phone dead centre of your forehead to work out if it's stereo or not is it really that important? It sounds fine with a headphone adaptor and run through external [Stereo] speakers that are far enough apart to make a diference.
Look, it strikes me that some of you have been over-whelmed by marketing hype, and aren't capable of working anything out for yourself...
For example...let's say:
Sendo say "stereo MP3 playback, dual port speakers"
Nokia say "stereo FM radio"
Those two statements are margeting speak...what do they really mean?... well, you have to take into account what isn't said there...as in..."we're not saying the speaker(s) are stereo" and "we're not defining how you get stereo FM radio"
What they're both saying is that those products are capable of producing the features mentioned*, they're just not defining quite which set of hardware / software / accessory you need to accomplish what they've said*.
The way I see it is quite simple - if you don't like the X, go and get another phone, there's better out there now. However, if you do like it (as your primary phone, like I do*) then shut the **** up about constantly slagging it off!
* - part or all of what might or might not be said above might possibly or possibly not, be bollox!
i guess the mono speakers are awesome cuz i really thought they were stereo! 😃
the paint isnt wearin off of my x. i am still amazed by it. after 4 months i still play with it atleast an hour a day.
so what if it has a few bugs? i dont care. maybe they will get fixed by the next firmware, maybe not!
anyways i agree with stu. if u dont like it then sell it, and if u lose money when u sell it then hellllooo, its not gold. its supposed to lose its value! stop cryin around people!
ps>"The paint on mine is falling off all because the buttons are small and u have to use yur nails to press the buttons."
the buttons are small?!?!?! maybe ur fingers are too big, u aint the incredible hulk by any chance r u😃?

You know, it's not always just about liking it as your primary phone, it's also for
some people a matter of money. Some people have constrained budgets, and are
not allowed simply to run out and buy a new phone because the brand new one
you bought is not living up to the expecations. And spending 420 on this british
"smartphone", I think I am entitled to say anything I want about it. I also think
others deserve to hear other users opinions about it before spending that
amount of money.
All the major reasons for me buying this phone has dissapointed me:
Symbian software compatibility, MP3 playback, Camera w/FLASH, Desgin/Quality.
I'll give Sendo credit for two things though, at least they tried doing something
different, and they have proven that fancy marketing does work!
Next time I buy something unproven on the internet I will think twice.
As an MBA I should know better, but we all learn as long as we live. 🙄
i must say i bought this phone for many things:
the online browser (breaks down and gprs connection breaks many times)
the mp3 player (works, but i can't receive calls when playing mp3 and not able to multitask with mp3)
smartmovie: doesn't work correctly: sound clicks the whole time which make you crazy and image stutters.
tomtom mobile : doesn't work
wayfinder: works, but inadequately, i spent 240 on that, luckily second hand. GPRS connection breaks a lot costing me a lot of money and not finding my way.
psyloc apps: most of them do NOT work, and infrared is not really usefull, plus infraredding with a nokia didn't work...

messus could you post pictures of this operation? I want to do it myself too. I'm going to Spain for 5 months so I can't get it fixed.
My mic is totally dead, it used to work

Kage Musha, in Spain you have some Service Centers all along the country. In madrid for example you can find more than 5.
😊

Will they take in my Sendo X with the Warranty? And I will be in the south, Malaga, I wonder if Sendo has someting there
Ok, here are the pictures!!
Remember, doing this could VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!
Do it at your own risk!!!!!! And be carefull!!
First you need a torx-screwdriver size T-6.
Unscrew the 4 screws on pic.3.
Use your fingernails to loosen the front, pic.4 and 5.,
do this on both sides of the front.
Gently push the front up to loosen in completely, pic.7.
Now loosen the loudspeaker on pic.9 and 10.
Now, unplug the rubber protection for the headphones
on pic.10, and gently lift up the motherboard as on pic.11.
You can see the mic located on pic.12,13,14,16,
and the mic itself disassembled on pic.15 and 17.
To loosen the microphone, use a small screwdriver or
something similar, pic.14. (The torx screwdriver is
not recommended, I did not use it, even if it is shown
on the picture.)
Now what I did, was simply to clean the surface of the
mic-connection on the motherboard located on pic.18.
I also cleaned the surface of the back of the rubber
holder for the microphone, pic.17. You could also blow
some air throught the mic-hole, pic. 16.
Now, after putting the mic back in place, gently put the
motherboard back in place as shown on pic.19. so that
the connectors in the bottom get back on place, then
gently push the whole motherboard back in place.
Be careful not to touch the screen to avoid fat-marks/stains.
After doing this, my microphone is working perfect.
thx messus!
This will help alot.

No problem 😊 - Hope it works out for you aswell!!
PS! One weird thing happened after I put the phone back together after
the last photo-session!! Now the camera is working as good as it has never
done before!!! The slow closure-time seem to be gone, and the red
colour in the pictures also seem to be gone!! 😮 😊
Still I wonder how long this will last!! :secruity:
HAHA, this phone seem not to be made of the highest quality hardware,
and the manufacturing process could probably also have been improved
a few inches!!! 🙄 😉
Hope the picturs come in handy for those who need them!!
