9500 firmware withdraw

I have recently experienced most of the known bugs with the 04.44(01) firmware on my 9500 (speed!!, Outlook/SP2 sync problem, battery indicator, WIFI problem and constant problems with crashing web browser).

When I went to my local Nokia service point I was informed that the 04.51 firmware had been withdrawn by Nokia due to a serious program error. He also showed me the official e-mail from the Nokia Service headquater proving what he said was true (I have also read a simular story from Germany on another forum).

Unlike my aged 9210i I believe that the 9500 firmware/software is multi language, and new firmware should be the same for all counties.

Does anyone have information about a forthcoming new release (that works!!)?

The guy at the service point could also confirm that an install of the 100MB firmware/software took approx 1 hour on the 9500 (not a few minutes like somebody else on this foum claimed).

AFAIK ( 😉 ) it had something to do with the update procedure (not with the firmware itself).
