Should I upgared to XP ? Pls Advice

XP is WAY more stable than 98SE! It uses a lot more resources but still wont crash so frequently! If it does you dont have to restart! That for the crashing part! It is very custoimisable but I would prefer XP Pro!

However, It uses a LOT more resources than 98SE but you are missing out on other things like improoved graphics etc!

i agree with malebuffy! just add more memory to kep your pc more stable on winXP. i havnt a problem with my pc even though i built it by myself

If you don't use any old devices then you could switch to XP, remeber that all devices which aren't printers but use the printer port will not work!
No scanners or things like that.

My scanner and mp3 player didn't work for instance.

If your videocard doesn't have specially designed drivers for win XP, the display will not be able to get the performance as it has in win 98SE

I've used XP, but I'm back @ 98Se. Why? Because I couldn't play games at the normal quality anymore. I couldn't use my mp3 player anymore + win XP get's slower after a while.

I find Win2K Pro to be the best - a lot more stable than XP and from a techie point of view at lot more friendly.

That's just bad luck, you've got the one version which doesn't have IR

I'm currently using XP Professional... its workin fine... but my sometimes my modem doesnt quite loving it... anyway, i have already upgraded to broadband now... and i'm in full demonic speed... :P

I personally wouldn't want all the security holes and bugs that XP comes with. Nor the EULA that means M$ have a free range over my hard drive.
