Hi,
I have loaded Agile Messenger 3.30 on my 9500 and on a friends and I just can't get mine to work.
We both use our email addresses on MSN as our login so it can't be a non compatible email address 😡 problem, and are both logged off MSN on our PC's.
I have tried connecting via GPRS, Wireless, and the normal dialup, both 9600 and high speed 28.8
But I just keep getting the same error message "invalid username or password"
I have tried uninstalling Agile Messenger but still no luck.
Does anyone else have the same problems and maybe a possible solution?
Thanks
Ari
Thats what I am getting as well on mine. It started happening after I upgraded from version 3.14 to 3.30 It says wrong password or username even though its correct and when I try to connect to Yahoo messenger, the application closes with an error.
I'm sure there must be a solution. I've tried emailing their support they haven't replied 😞

Try to make your password more "easier", i had a special character (eg. %$) in my pwd for msn passport. I hope that helpes for you!

Still no luck. To confirm the username is your email address right that you use for MSN right? I'm going to setup a hotmail address now and see if that works *sigh*.....nope not even when signing in with a hotmail address works :icon13:
Just tried formatting my 9500 and only loading Agile Messenger. Still no luck 😞
I'm out of ideas and emailing the makers of Agile Messnger doesn't help cos they don't reply.
Those people with Agile working, what version are you using. Mine stopped working just after I upgraded.
Just to keep everyone updated, I have just had my phones software upgraded to 4.51 and I still have no luck.
I have been reading a lot of threads all over the internet in different forums and the only thing I cna think of is that my network has blocked the ports needed, sicne some people on Vodafone were having this problem, but that doesn't explain why i can't connect via WiFi.
:frown:
I am using Agile Messenger AM-NOKIA9500-27.
Everything works fine except for AOL which says Bad password. I might try and change my password to something easier.
By the way does this mean that this Agile company can get all our passwords for MSN etc etc?
Phil
Hi Phil,
Please can you email me the installation file of Agile Messenger you using. You can send it to
useme(at)agetech.co.za
and anyone else who has Agile working, even if it means a previous version.
Thanks
Ari
Agile msgr never worked on my 9300 and appeared to be the source for constant crashes until I removed it. Too bad, it looks like a nice piece of software otherwise
I had Symantec Firewall installed on my 9500 and after upgrading Agile Messenger to latest version only way to connect was to disable firewall while using Messenger. Even creating rules to allow traffic did not work. May not apply to anyone else but maybe if using WLAN, it is the WLAN firewall?
Hi Phil,
Thanks for the email, you running the latest version 3.30, which unfortunately doesn't work my side.
I don't have any antivirus or firewall programs installed on my 9500 and I disabled Norton Internet Security on my PC just incase, but still no luck connecting, MSN still comes back saying incorrect username or password.
Does anyone have a previous version of Agile Messenger for me to try? If so please can you mail me the installation file to
useme(at)agetech.co.za
Thanks
Ari
Mine was also saying Wrong username or password but I just tried once again and it has now started working without touching anything.
If you're using MSN and have a hotmail account you have to use the full hotmail address as your user name - i.e.: . I suppose the same applies for Yahoo and AOL users as well.
Agile Messenger works fine here, from the first version to the latest.
So i'm still going crazy trying to get Agile to work on my 9500. My brother just got a Sony Ericsson P910i and it worked first time.
We both on the same network so I ruled out the ports being blocked. When I checked his GPRS settings, he had no proxy server, so I created a new GPRS connection without the proxy server and crossed all fingers and toes.
But still no luck. It keeps saying incorrect username and password. I have emailed Agile now 15 times without receiving a single response.
Does anybody have an older version for me to try. If you do, please email it to useme(at)agetech.co.za
I'm going crazy here.
Thanks
Ari
Agile Messenger has been working without a hitch on my 9500, firmware is 4.44(1) and Agile Messenger version is 3.30. I've only been using it with MSN since that is the only IM I use apart from Skype. 😊
Image transfer and push-to-talk also work, I hope this product remains free forever!!! 😃
So here I am still struggling with Agile. My Network has two possible GPRS settings. I have tried recreating the GPRS access point manually.
Does anyone know the difference between "internet" and gprs default network" under "Network ID" when creating a new point.
My borowsing and email access work 100% via GPRS, but Agile still gives hassles
Could everyone (well almost everyone) who has Agile working, please post their GPRS connection settings so I can compare them.
I know each network has their own, but maybe I'll notice something missing that Agile needs.
Thanks once again
Ari
Here are my GPRS settings for Rogers (Canada):
GPRS accesspoint name: internet.com
Password prompt: yes
Username: wapuser1
Password: wap
Advanced settings:
Network type: IPv4
Auto-retrieve IP: Yes
Auto-retrieve DNS: Yes
Proxy protocol: HTTP
Use proxy: No
Other
Allow plain-text login: Yes
Hope that helps!
Mine:
GPRS accesspoint name: internet.netcom.no
Password prompt: No
Username:
Password:
Advanced settings:
Network type: IPv4
Auto-retrieve IP: Yes
Auto-retrieve DNS: Yes
Proxy protocol: HTTP
Use proxy: No
Other
Allow plain-text login: Yes.
I don't actually need any passwords or proxies or anything because everything is automatically recognised by my network, but if I were to use the Proxy server my settings would be like this:
Proxy protocol: HTTP
Use proxy server: Yes
Proxy server: 10.254.254.10
Port number: 8080.
Thanks guys, we all have very similar settings, my access point is just set to "internet" and everything else is standard.
I'm just glad I'm not the only one suddenly experiencing this sicne they upgraded Agile, I just hope they fix the bug soon.
hi there ..
i am happy user of agile too on my 9500 .. with me it was working fine untill i installed norton ... coz it puts the firewall (it took me three days to discover it) so disable firewall
i am using version 3.30 and it works absolutely fine try it
i used to be able to connect using this agile without anyproblem. but since i went to singapore and used different wifi network for agile, it just would not work. it said : "unable to connect to server. if this problem persists plese consult www.agilemobile.com/help"
i went to the site, but it does not help at all, i wonder if anybody else experience the same problem and can resolve it. thanks.

then how can you differentiate for user logging in using non-hotmail account? i have a gmail account to be used in msn for example.
I can't get mine to do anything, I click register service then all the busy icons appear, but it doesn't connect. I don't get any error messages it just sits there trying to connect.
it seems that now everyone is having trouble of connecting to msn using agile. is there any comment from agile experts?
😉😃
