The question is in the title... How often do you guys change handsets?
Up to now I've changed mine each year (when they do cheap upgrades!), but as soon as they release a decent sized memory card for this phone, I cant really think of any reason to upgrade again after this. It seems to do everything I'd want in a phone.
What about you guys?
I buy a new phone when one comes on the market I want. I just take a new contract. In the past I have had over 17 contracts on the go. I have just 7 at the moment, three on Orange, two on o2m one on 3 and one on Vodafone.
Two of my Orange contracts cancel in the next few months, so will be down to just 5.

i change my phone once /sometimes twice/ a year, but now i have my 6630 i dont want to change this device untill 3G comes to my country... /Q1 2006/,because iam not able to use alle the advantages of this phone and its not a good idea to upgrade your phone /buy a new one/,uf you cannot use new services, features and so on.... in my country in pre-paid u have to be happy with calling,SMS and MMS,because there is nothing more... no GPRS from wap,EDGE only for post-paid and 3G is far far away, like in shrek 2 😃 so i am waiting for better services and after that i will change my phone, but not untill that...

😮
let me get this right. SEVENTEEN!? bloody hell. i hate having just two running together (when i get a new phone and the contracts overlap). i think id go into meltdown if i had seventeen running!
How the hell do you afford 17?! That's just madness. I "only" get a new one every 12-15 months - I tend to abuse my phones and they don't last more than a year or so.
Probably a bit unfair to ask me how often I change as I have to review a fair number, and chop and change the SIM to do programming tests, but my prefferred phone has changed 4 times in the last 3 years.
this year (2005) ive had a nokia 6310i, n-gage, 6230, and now a 6630 😎
Cause ive got a company phone i dont use my orange pay-as-you-go sim for phone calls, its more using the phone features
How do you afford them all though? I mean, I've only ever bought one phone (6600) and that was just because I had some spare cash that month. You've had 4 phones in 2 months!? In the UK that must be a minimum of about 1000 of phones... ? :O

out of all them handsets i only bought the 6630 brand new and gave the o2 contract to my brother as i dont need to use it. The rest were actually a strange story, turn of the new year my phone broke (7610) so i used an old 6310i then bought the n-gage for 70 off my mate. I then gave that to my kid cousin cause i got bored of it (screen looked very poor compaired to 7610 and had no time to play games) then went for the 6230 which cost me 150. Now my sister was complaining about her phone (7210) and like typical nokia users "i only want a nokia cause they have a easy to use menu" so being the kind hearted bro i gave that phone to her (along with my 256mmc!!!!!) only after i got this 6630 😉
Not sure what to get next (OMG im planning next phone already!). I was considering the 9500 but its tooo big, and the 9300 doesnt have wifi, all i know is this, my brother has his eye on this 6630 of mine and he knows me all too well and will end up with it 🙄
EDIT thinking about it now i COULD save some money and spend it on a new bike 😃
Heh, yeah - been thinking about getting/doing my bike test for a while now. The lure of a ducati when I win the lottery will be too great...

ive been riding since october so im quite new to it, if you need any tips let me know :icon14:
Got a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 97' at the moment, got it cheap (like my phones hehe), ducati's are nice but pretty expensive, looking at changing it soon but i ride into london so any bike i get is probably going to get full of bus + taxi smog (not to mention other bits of rubbish and grime)
Yeah - that's my problem with bikes, is the crap that gets into them (and on me). I'm definately a car man; can't see me riding into work on a day like today, with it chucking down snow/hail/sleet 😊 - but having a bike would be a lot of fun..

yea its excellent fun, heard its even more fun in the snow 😮 :icon4:
Seriouly getting a bike was the best thing i ever did, i kinda got converted by a few bikers at work 😃, dont think i could ever go back to a car again. I didnt get a chance to ride in the snow fall today but in the rain it isnt too bad, it doesnt seep into the waterproof gear, cant wait for summer should be a good larf
i usually change mine once or twice a yr as i have two contracts, (vodafone & t-mobile) i got a 7610 in october and my 6630 in December,but now i want a 6680 😃
i bought
7650 in Aug 2002
6600 in Nov 2003
and i will buy
6680 in March 2005 (hopefully)
so.. 15 months first, 16 then.. only when sometghing special really comes along, and won't be replace too soon!
