vodafone/singlepoint MMS

I just phoned up vodafone about setting up MMS, they said, ring my service provider (singlepoint). so i phoned singlepoint and they told me i couldnt get MMS because i was on there old database, they said MMS would become active from February! funny that, when you consider the free MMS deal runs out in january!

anyone else got problems with singlepoint over this? how did you get MMS in the end?

singlepoint is a billing company for vodafone, i think vodafone is split into two billing companies under one brand, eg: vodafone retail + singlepoint. both are still vodafone though.

SHIT thats fucked up, because i'm on singlepoint as well 😞

think we have to want till February

can we still use wap? 😮ops:

Singlepoint were getting some bad rep. on Watchdog last night, and I'd never even heard of them before!

Apartently Singlepoint are owned by the same man who owns Phones4U.

Just to clarify on this:

Vodafone and Singlepoint are two completely separate companies, with Singlepoint being owned by Phones4U

Singlepoint are the service provider for Phones4U - they basically sell contracts using Vodafones network in a similar way that you can have a Freeserve Internet account on a BT line - Therefore Vodafone are not accountable for Singlepoint

Just because something is available on Vodafone, doesn't mean it's available on singlepoint - GPRS is only just about to go live on Singlepoint (1 Nov) though I'm not holding my breath as they have been pushing the date back for the last 6 months (see threads on this forum).

Applying the same thoughts to MMS should mean you can get it on Singlepoint roughly nex November!

I will not be renewing my contract with Singlepoint next year (if you hadn't guessed! 😊 )

Headshox is right, Watchdog (A BBC program that talks about how companies perform poorly) did do an article on Cauldwell group, who own Singlepoint and Phones4U.

When I was looking to get my 7650, it was available at less than half the price of Orange, on Singlepoint tariffs. I decided to look into them, and sure enough just 10 mins surfing the web brought up hundreds of articles of how people had been screwed by Singlepoint/Phones4U etc.

Their service sucks, and they have zero customer support. Orange on the other hand are attentive and offer all the GPRS, Wap and MMS I could ever need to run my 7650 to its full potential. I only wish they would offer the 6/mnth for unlimited GPRS access like they are offering on the SPV x

i just phoned singlepoint, this morning, and for you people who are on the old server i feel sorry for u, cos the customer service on the new is much better!!! 😃

but to get the gprs set up on by phone i had to set up a seperate gprs tarrif which set me back 8, just thought id let you all know.

oh and the mms is defiantly free till feb.

well this just shows singlepoint and fones4u are ripping us off had and foot!

the reason i also say this is because, i recently applied for a job a fones4u, went to interview and got the job, however once i'd got the job i found that the comission is stupid, on a free phone its possible to make between 50-100 for a contract and around 20 for pay as you go phones. just think how much we could save if they cut that commision a little. maybe a few more free texts, cheaper call costs etc.

or in the case of singlepoint - good customer service would be nice!

8 per month for GPRS is still allot you have to admit.

i phoned them up again today and complained and they basicly told me where i could stick it! you would think they would want to be nice to customers?! obviously not! well i wont be renewin my contract with them either.

GEEZ!, I'm glad I didn't get my phone from Phones4U! (I nearly did) but the Vodafone shop was a 2 second walk closer so I went in there.

I thought Vodafone itself was bad for not supporting HSDC and such, but not having MMS just because you bought your phone from a different shop! Rather than from the Vodafone shop is just plain crazy.

Lets hope you haven't got long left on your contract. :-?

I was wondering if anyone can help me on this.

I spoke to my service provider today Vodafone/Singlepoint, I asked if I could get GPRS and they said yes they sent me the setting for GPRS by text and said its free until end of December. Now when I go to Services & click on Vodafone live this is what comes up --- GPRS: GPRS not available. Check network services.

Then I ring them back and spoke to them they said to It should work, have u switched ur phone off and back on. I had done that but its still not working.

Can anyone help me with this please.
