Rafe has already mentioned this in a previous post but for the benifit of others, along with some additional info:

According to industry rumours, three new Nokia handsets will be premired on Monday. These include the replacment for the 9210, the 6100 and a 7650i, in black and silver.

The 9210's replacement has GPRS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a 640 x 480 display & runs Symbian 7.0

These are only rumours, my source being a fairly reliable guy on the 'What Mobile UK' Forums.

Don't forget people, there is usually a LONG gap between Nokia "Launching" something and it turning up in the shops....

If this thing has 640 x 480, I'll be over the moon. Just bought my Tungsten T, which will now be my interim product until the above comes out (if true).

SENSATIONAL!

A screen size640 x 480! Would be ideal watching videoclips!

If the launch is in November, then it'll be released in March, April I guess!

OH YES! 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃

Just recently brought the 9210i and its no way worth 600, although I did pay 850 for the 9210, the high price was due to Orange taking 6-9 months releasing one on there network after Vodafone etc... have released.
But my 9210 was basically falling apart so i had no choice

I was always expecting Nokia to bring out a better version not just one which had the internals slightly uprated!

If its released about June/July'ish that should be just in time for me to replaced my 9210i due to wear and tear.

It should be:
Thinner, Lighter with at least 64mb internal memory etc...

I do not believe those rummors.
In fact I heard that one X25 or something like that project might be on its way to replace 92xx.

I think it is rough premature to think about that. Nokia is not SonyEricsson to announce something and launch it next year.

So, I think until next year summer time or later, NADA, Niente, Nichts, NIMIC, Nothing...

Stop dreaming guys. The 9110 owners ware like last mohicans until 9210 appeared, so It is our time to remain stoneAged compared to competition.

Of course, until ...the new Baby will be born. On ver. 8 I hope.

We'll just have to wait and see until Monday then! And there is nothing wrong with increasing our hopes ten fold that a new communicator is in the pipe line!

My 7650 is already black and silver. If that spec for the 9210 replacement becomes a fact, then it will mean that Nokia are doing what they should. But they never do, so don't expect bluetooth (ideal for this brick) and wi-fi -- these things are too new for Nokia to put in a Communicator. A 640x480 display is also out of the question iof they're to keep to a reasonable form factor.

I wait with bated breath for the disappointing news on Monday.

So why not? SE P800 has 'half' of the size and have bluetooth, GPRS, etc.

usually nokia announces it early, then we will probably see it around 2nd or 3rd quarter of 2003 in shops...

Half of that was 'tongue in cheek' and innuendo. Of course it can have GPRS and BT and all the rest of it, but quite frankly, the point is: How BIG will it be if it's a 640x480 screen? 😮

that's what am talking about.. a 640x480 screen.. it becomes a laptop not a mobile :robot:
it's impossible!

Nokia has announced a series of next-generation mobile phones at CeBIT 2002 - 9210i-

and then annouce a new communicator in the same year- Nokia Mobile Internet Conference 2002-

it doesn't make scence

The rumoured 640x480 screen in the rumoured new Communicator probably relates to the resolution of the rumoured camera in it. I HOPE they don't put a camera in the new rumoured Communicator unless it's at least 1024x768. In fact, I hope they put a CF slot in it instead of a camera so I can transfer pictures from my Ixus to it 😃 And yes, I still want the FM radio (see other posts). If they can stick one in the 8310, I'm sure they'll find room in the rumoured new Communicator :agrue:

[quote="Rafe"]As I understand it the screen size will be 640 x 240. i.e. half VGA.

Sounds excellent 😊

:bday: :bday: :bday: Happy birthday Dazler :bday: :bday: :bday:

I hope you'll receive a great gift today... And as too!.. 8)

Sorry, no new communicator from Nokia as a present though
Only 8910i, 5100 and 2100...
I guess we have to wait a bit longer 😉

Let's forget about all the hype about the new communicator and / or 7650i! Next year there is as usual 3GSM in Nice and CeBIT in Hanover plus (happens only every 4th year) ITU Telecom World in Geneva. So plenty of opportunities to announce more fancy gadgets... 😉 (and hopefully not only from Nokia!)
