I just got my 3230. I want to save the incoming sms/mms on the memorycard, but i cant find the option that lets me choose that. It was possible on my other symbian phones, but i cant see that the 3230 has this option. Can someone help, or does someone know that it doesnt work?
Inbox and memorycard
In the phone itself u cant save incoming sms/mms on the memory card. I have no freaking clue why. But there is a software that does it, i dont remember the name of it dough.
Ok. Thanks for the answer. I used to have 6600 and 7610 and both of them had the memorycard option. But it seems that nokia left it out this time.
Hey can you please help me with the name of the software.. cos this is a real problem for me..

How can I transfer my messenges from my phone memory to the memory card after I have installed this? I cant find a way.
Cheers
Luko
to save messages from phone to memory card or PC, use "msgstorer"
I have installed the MsvDriveE but when i try to open it, it gives me "App. closed MsvServer !" error :frown:
you dont need to open it. when you recieve a message now it will automatically save on your memory card.
I have activated mscdrivee but I have some old message stored in the cell. memory... someone know where this messages are (folder)?
Thank you in advance...

Will this work for my Nokia 3230.
Is there any installation instruction. please specify
TIA
Yes it works on a 3230, send the file to the phone via bluetooth or usb, install and run once only!!! WAIT, it takes time to complete. Now if you want your old messages put on the MMC card, use like Fexplorer or SeleQ to cut and paste the files from c:\system\mail to e:\system\mail Watch this step, dont go inside mail, you may paste the folders within each other and not overwrite the new clean setup. Once everything is copied, turn OFF your phone!!! This is very important to flush out the memory, restart and ALL your memory messages will now be on the MMC card along with any Email settings etc you have configured. Doing this also clears more space from the C drive, which helps alot.

Hi all,
Wonder if anybody can help.
Bascially I have used the msvDrive to enable storing of sms onto the mmc card. I also followed the instructions from the previous post to move the files in c:\system\Mail to e:\system\Mail.
But still, I couldn't see my old message.
I noticed that after enabling msvDrive, there are some folders created in e:\system\Mail.
I have tried various method, like copying the whole of c:\system\mail to e:\system\Mail, overwriting everything in e:\system\Mail, still it doesn't work.
I have also tried to copy only those folders and files that are not present in e:\system\Mail, from c:\system\Mail, without much success as well.
Of course, each time I have off the phone and turn it back on to check.
Would appreciate if someone could offer a more detailed instruction on how I could move my old messages from the phone memory to the mmc storage so that after I enable msvdrive, I can still see my old messages.
Thanks !

sorry but do you save the app. to the phone or MMC, or does it not matter?

The app is residing on my phone memory.... I'm not too sure if that matters or not... would be glad if somebody can clarify it ?

Hi,
I'm a newbie today. Great site though. My problem with the dust was the reason I found this site, or should I say was linked to this site.
Any way I have solved it now, through the knowledge of this member

Hi Brian! Did you finally get a chance to solve this problem? :con? I'm experiencing exactly the same situation 😡
if u want to recover phone memory msgs after using msvdrive then first of all remove the memory card and then click on msvdrive then go to messaging. u will receive a msg 'msgs cant be stored in mmc. msgs will be stored in phone memory'. after that insert your mmc. u ll get ur msgs back but not that of mmc. i.e. u cant see msgs of both memories at one time. its up to you which memory to use.
and if msvdrive is installed in mmc memory then just remove mmc and go to msgs. same thing wil happen try it. it works..........
OK, here's how I've done it:
1. Install MsvDriveE, run it and reboot.
2. Go to C:\System\Mail and copy the whole dir to E drive, but not in SYSTEM! Make another dir.
3. Uninstall MsvDriveE and delete the file msgs.ini from C:\System\Data. :icon4: Watch out what you are deleting. Reboot again.
4. Go to the dir where you copied the C:\System\Mail first time. Copy the dir and put it on E:\System\Mail. When prompted for overwrite choose "Yes".
5. Install again MsvDriveE and run it. Reboot for the last time, and VOILA! All your messages are on the E drive.
When you'll enter inbox, you'll see that the icon is now a mem card 😉
If you had alot of messages, go to C:\System and delete the whole Mail directory. He's a memory waster:tongue: Hope that I was usefull.
lol...i'm trying this app rite now...but i m confuse! :con? :con?
yeah! 3230!😎 😎
