Shopping for a new phone from Cingular. I am really leaning towards the Treo for the PDA feature which I really want, and I like the QWERTY keyboard, but the more I talk to people about the 6620, they say it runs circles around the Treo??
I will be using the phone for two main things:
1) Checking the www for various things a couple times a day.
2) PDA stuff (appointment reminders, address book feature, calculator)
Im thinking the Treo has a larger viewing screen (handy for those web pages) and has a format (Palm) I am familiar with. I am NOT familiar with the Symbian OS so I dont know if it as easy to use.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks
I have a Zodiac (Palm OS5 really nice PDA) and a 6620, and the Zodiac's launcher is so much nicer than that of the 6620 its laughable. The Zodiac's launcher is different from the regular Palm OS one though, and I'd say compared to the 650's launcher the 6620's is a bit worse. The basic functions you want are good enough on the 6620 with the built in apps and probably better with some third party apps. The 650 is better for web browsing because of the larger screen resolution (and size) and the screen being a touchscreen, but its far too large in my opinion.
If you care about the size or price get the 6620 but if you don't care about either get the treo 650.

Here's my history so you're aware. I've owned a 6620 for about 2 hours now, and prior to that, a Treo 600. Why am I switching to a Nokia? Several reasons, the biggest one is reception. The 600 had problems in areas that I see other people talking on the phone (like the train). The form factor. I like wearing my phone on my belt, having a stubby antenna jab you in the side isn't very nice.
However, here's some great points about the Treo, it's an excellent PDA. It's a Palm device with a phone on the back. Just take a run at sites like palmgear.com and freewarepalm.com. If you don't like the default launcher, go get another one. If you think you're missing a feature, go check out a treo specific site and see if someone wrote one (like mytreo.net and treocentral.com).
It also has a halfway decent keyboard. If you're a touch typist, it's a nice thing to be able to have keys your familiar with, even though they're small, under your thumbs.
Depending on who you're going with, I definitely say try the Treo and see if it fits your needs, if not, you can always return it and get a 6620 and some cash to buy a bluetooth headset.
Handspring coaxed a PDA to make phonecalls. Nokia coaxed a cell phone to act like an organizer. You can see where the strengths are.
