I have installed several programs on my SX1 such as eDictionary and the Extended Recorder besides some games after that I found that the Backup process coulde not back up all the files on ther C: driver and the most important file that couldn't be backed up is contacts.cdb. When I tried to copy this file directly using SDS it was impossible to be copied. Please I want to know why this problem occurs.
Note: when I uninstall some programs the problem disappears.
Thank you in advance.
It seems that the file is used by another application. You can try to remove the MMC, then reboot the phone having the shift key pressed. This way the phone will boot in safe mode with no 3rd party apps being started. Then try to back up. You need to do the same thing to restore the back up otherwise some files won't be restored because they are in use...
Dear Sir
Sorry for my ignorance, what is the Shift Key, which one?
It is the one with an arrow looking up. It is on the left beside the C key and under green phone key. It is the button you use for copying cuting and pasting text, changing language when text inputing etc. It is also known (on other s60 devices) as abc or pencil key.
I hope I was clear...
Thank you very much, your are very helpful. When I reboot the phone in safe mode, is there any message telling that the phone is actual in safe mode as in Microsoft windows or it will start with the normal screens?
I tried as you told me and all files were backed up except one file in font folder, which may be not important, is that right or wrong? And why that occurs?

I suspect that you have changed the fonts so there are some gdr files in c:\system\fonts. These files will always be used even if you boot in safe mode as I described above. It is recommended though to have these files in E:\System\fonts instead of C:\System\Fonts. These way if by removing the MMC and rebooting in safe mode no file will be opened by the O.S.
Now, the only thing that the backup won't restore is the modified fonts you have, so it's not really a problem.
How can I copy the font folder to the card by only copy and paste or there is another way?
You'll have to make a trick in order for the O.S. to stop protecting the files from anychange.
First rename with a 3rd Party file manager (like FExplorer) the C:\System\Fonts to sth else (like c:\System\F). Then MOVE (cut & paste) all the files from the renamed folder (C:\System\F) to E:\System\Fonts.
Dont forget to restart after you've done.
Thanks a lot for you. You are always a great support for me, especially in the memories of of my LORD and My GOD JESUS. You were a great aid for me in the last Chrismas when my phone was dead and now in the Easter. Thanks again.
