There have been a quite a few criticisms levelled at the Sendo smartphones on this forum, so I thought I'd give people the chance to say how they would fine tune the Sendo for better performance.
My 3 choices:
- A slight update on the OS version - say Symbian 7 to make it compatible with the TomTom GPS and a few "picky" apps - QuickOffice I'm looking at you!
- A little more RAM - an extra 5 or 10Mb
- A faster processor - the current one's not bad, but if there's a faster one I'll take it.
- The return of the connector on the original X - I want to use my shiny new keyboard on the X3 😊
Aside from the above, the original X is fine size wise, screen wise and connectivity wise...Why muck around too much with a decent formula?

I think those 3 (4) choices are going to be the most common ones...
For me (and before anyone asks, what I say is based on what I would like, not what I may or may not know)
* 3G capability
* Newer version of Symbian OS (rumoured to be in X3)
* Faster main processor (although the X2 seems a lot faster than the X on the same hardware)
* Even higher quality camera
* A return of the camera flash (it's dropped on the X2 remember)
I agree the screen (especially when you see what the X2 can do), sound and connectivity already offered is absolutely fine.
...
*series 60 based in symbian 9
*QVGA Display
*3 MP Cam with good quality
*RDS Radio
*native USB 2.0 Connector + 3,5mm for Earphones
*4 GB miniSD delivered with it
*VGA video recording
*3G
*WLAN
*not bigger than X2
*new design.. maybe a bit like the X
*good keypad and better general quality of the handset
...
+same price as the X2
=
😊 :tongue: 😃 :icon14:

Nice, but maybe *slightly* over ambitious...? 😉
That's a nice idea about the radio - I hadn't thought of that. With the SoniX processor, it could really take off. WLAN would be nice but unlikely (imagine how useful a keyboard would be with no GPRS charges....). 3G I'm not too fussed about - data tariff would be prohibitively expensive to get any worthwhile or long term use.
My list:
- 3G (EDGE would be enough, UMTS even better)
- More up-to date Symbian
- Externally accessible SD card slot
- SDIO compatible SD card slot or expansion bus (to allow addition of WiFi, enabling WiFI VoIP)
- USB-powerered as standard (bundled AC adaptor converts USB connector)
- Bluetooth 2.0 with point to multipoint supported (part of the standard, anyway)
But above all:
- Test the phone before launching it!
It's really annoying to spend 350 on a phone and have it sitting in some unforgotten corner because it is too unstable (and this is after 8 months of waiting for the firmware upgrade which will fix all!). To be honest, I'd take the latter in place of any of the above... Sendo need to realise the value of making sure their phones 100% reliable. All the bells and whistles in the world won't help them if they don't.
DS
Try 450...But on most specs i agree. The size of the screen has been mentioned, but what's more important to me is the quality. Something compareable to the gx30? 😃 It would be nice to have better view in direct sunlight.

Trimakassi - wait till you see the X2 - it's screen is literally twice as bright as the one on the X! I can't do a direct comparison to the GX30 as I don't have one, but on brightness (if not quite yet on clarity) then I'd think it a fair match. Having said that, the clarity on the X2 is much better than on the X as well. 😊
* WLAN
* WLAN
* WLAN
.............
* Higher quality camera
* More RAM
* Joystick
* Real multitasking for the mp3 player
Probably the perfect phone (for me) is the n91 but with the price and the dimensions of X2
🙄
i would like wlan (a must), sd card support (cheaper, bigger memory, sdio is a plus), symbian 8 (series 60 v2 p3), better camera, small size (between x and x2), no bugs 😃 and gps.
And i would like a new firmware for the x to be easier to waiting for the x3 with all these without changing phone 😎
Frankly, new features aren't of too much interest to me.... I'd even trade half the ones it already has in order to get:
- Decent speed. At least 5 times as responsive. I can probably recieve, read and reply to a text on my ancient Nokia in at least a quarter of the time.
- No crashes/weirdness/bugs. Why should I have to unlock the phone twice every time to get it to unlock?
- Some way of seeing text/missed call status while the phone's dimmed without having to resort to examining it against the nearest light source. I used to be able to see there was a status message from about 10 feet away in a pub in the old days...
I know it's dull, but in moving from an old and trusty Nokia 8210 I've gained all kinds of funky features but lost the efficiency of it's day-to-day functionality. Texting and making calls will always be more important to me than playing java games...
I realise that the Sendo is not much different to its competitors in this, but if a replacement could actually offer the speed and usability of an old phone with the modern features of a new phone then I'd buy it in a shot. Just not seen one yet, especially in the X.
at this precise moment i would improve it by chucking it in the bin, i can honestly say this has been the worst phone ive had ,nothing but problems, i cant use it only for texts, as no one can hear me when i use the phone
It seems that you're experiencing the well known mic problem. There are 2 ways to solve this: Fix it yourself by first fiddling around with the screws, (means warranty void) or send it (via service center) to Sendo for repairs.
.
I would like.......................... Sendo to buy my Sendo X back at full price for their stupidity in selling the most useless functional smart'phony' phone.
.
Is this too far fetched?

A heartfelt apology to messus and Nutzu:
I am very sorry about having you pinned as Sendo haters. You've got nothing on this blahblahbber guy. However, I can sympathise with him - if my Sendo X had demonstrably fried half my brain, I'd be annoyed as well.

is ok masamune i don't have the phone anymore i got rid of it on the second day,to bad cuz in the paper i like it so much,but when was about to try it i realise i did a big mistake and lost a lot of money(i paid 1000$cad. to get it here in canada and when i resell it i got for it 650 allmost 700$)so that's why i'm mad on them is like i help them with some money :icon13:
Maybe when the X2 comes out, it'll be fairly cheap. Give it a couple of months to see if any major problems crop up and then you might be able to get one cheap on eBay to try. I've got to admit, compatability with certain software can be a headache at times, but as a phone on its own, its not too bad.

been burned one time i don't think i'll buy it again,i have a retaill store here in toronto and belive me i try a lot of phones when they come out on the market by that i'm doing my sales,if i was selling the x by now my store would be demolished,just imagine telling my clients that they have to open(dismantle) the phone to fix the problem with the mic 🙄
