Z Disc Sundo X

If you buy a Sendo X, you get it (the Z-drive is the drive in ROM where the phone's operating system and built-in apps sit).

The files there are not useful for anything a beginner programmer could do anything with (you can't run any of the files on other phones, as the executable layout is for in-place execution from ROM).

So, why do you need the Z-drive contents of the Sendo X for?

I'm need Z drive Sendo X for my research, and maybe for create new mod for Siemens SX1. My first mod there http://forum.oslik.ru/viewtopic.php?t=9484 my and my friend second mod there http://forum.oslik.ru/viewtopic.php?t=12055 only copy Z: on memory card and send my, please!!!
In Russia Sendo X don't sell.

It looks like this guy wants to hack the Sendo X's firmware, but quite why he wants to do that to make a hack for the Siemens SX1 I don't know!

Hahaha, isn't this gettin fun...Listen, I gave you a chance to explain specifically what you need the Z: drive for and you're not makin friends right now. Acting this way doesn't help you at all. So once again, what's the big plan with the Z: drive?

If you tell people what these several values are that you want to compare then they might be more inclined to help you.

In the future I plan to buy Sendo X2 and to work for it!

Modifying the firmware of a phone, any phone, is illegal and therefore not allowed.

I doubt anyone on this forum wants to break the law in this way.

If the X isn't available in Russia, how are you going to buy an X2?

It is perfectly easy to buy an X on ebay!

I translated that Russian bit:

"I disrupt no copyrights! I simply want to verify something. Sendo X Is very interesting to me as smartfon and I want simply to compare several values. And everything"

Even so, I'm pretty sure Sendo's copyrighted its own firmware. If I had to hazard a guess, perhaps our mysterious Russian friend wants to take the Now! screen from the sendo, stick it on other Series 60 phones and market it as his own app.

If this is completely implausible, by all means tell me...

Now by taking a look to varius patches for enabling themes on the SX1 you'll find out that many changes that are done to the firmware have many similarities with Sendo's theming solution.

Till now through firmware modifications the community has been able to apply to the SX1:
-Fullscreen wallpapers
-Pallete changing (including font colour changing)
-Start up animation changing
-Signal, battery, bluetooth and other icons changing
-Alarm sound changing (with no 3rd party app)
-Volume increase
(and some more that do not come to my mind)

There is a dangerous think though on some of the patches. They change the path from where the files are read and instead of the Z they are read from E (or C). So if no files are found to be read the phone won't boot up.

I'm quite sure he just wants to see the differences some specific files have between SX1 and X and so he will try to change these specific files (or only bits of them) to have the same skining support with Sendo's.

If I had an X I would help him guys. Don't be hard on him.

Ok, what's if it's true? Then the guy should buy the frikkin developerkit imo. And he also should be more forthcoming about his plans. You must agree that by reading his posts you get a little suspicious. But let's hear from him. I'm getting curious.

I had been watching his work on this russian forum www.oslic.ru (and all Z-Teams projects and work) from the begining and he has contibuted alot, that is why I am not suspicious at all.
