Ringtone vs voice tag

Is there any way to 'say' the voice tag whenever a call is coming instead of having the ring tone ??

thanks -

Domi.

if u realy want it

try to record ur voice and then set it as the ringtone for the person

then if the person calls u the ringtones is ur voice

what u can do is record a special alert using ur 7650 recorder (go to extras), u can probably say the name of the person or even have the person record his voice saying soimething like "hi this is sean, pick up your phone!" and assign that as the ringtone of your contact. this file will come out as .amr.

hope i got what your trying to say. hit me back if this helps.

lol.... 😉

It could be easier to play directly the recorded voicetag itself !! it's maybe an idea for a small application ..... what are you thinking about a such program ????

i think it would not be a development prospect for programmers bec there is already such a recorder in the 7650 that can produce .amrs, which you can use as ringtones, and the quality is quite ok. besides the recording of voice tags is really poor.

Seanmiguel

In fact, it's true BUT you cannot associate an .amrs file for each entry in your contact list ! (or I have missed some page in the manual)

yes u can, screw the manual just explore the phone urself heheh

open the contact name then press option and scroll down to ringing tone then u can set ur ring tone for the name and yes the .amr format can be played

Oh oh that's right - another feature that I didn't known !! I think, instead of sleep this night, I'm going to read the manual ENTIRETY !!!!!

haha!!! nice you figured that one out! but if i were you, id take pichu's advice, screw the manual, it can get confusing at times, this forum is a much better learning venue for the 7650.

about the .amr, yes u can assign every contact with a personlized recording as ringtone, one thing u need to look at is the memory, eat may consume some.

you could also get the person you wants voice by getting them to record it on there computer and emailing it to your phone. this will work if you cant actually get very near to the person you want, eg.... different country or something!

But if they would record it, your gonna get it as a wav file, which takes space, but then you can change the quality to make it take less space, but then that would suck because it would'nt be high quality, and you would get pissed that there's not alotta memory on the phone, then go around and complain, and end up opening another thread about : the 7650's memory is too low!!

So i think you should stick to amr, but the problem is, when you assign it as a ringtone, it rings half the volume, maybe some one can fix this? app or anything?
