hope u guys can help on this query, i recently enabled my gprs data account for a moderate fee, which i didnt really want to pay!!
but the bloke at singlepoint customer care, said that it was no only way to get gprs. but the main Q's that i wanted answered were:
1, is that the only way to gprs on vodafone single point?
2, is it possible to get mms on gsm, not just gprs
3, and is it just singlepoint that does this, cos my freind on orange can send mms fine , which i must say my phone cant recieve pis or vice verser. and is that just because of the different providers?
please help,l cos i aint ganna have any hair left
im in chelmsford and on orange pay as u go 7650 i can send mms to people but all they get is text messages directing them to a site i dont know anyone with orange mms phones to see if they get a pic so i did not need a contract to get grps
According to my knowledge, you need not to have GPRS activated for MMS eventhough MMS uses GPRS to retrive.
MMS & GPRS are two different kind of packages.
Hi
MMS cannot be used via GSM! The MMS systems are all designed to work via GPRS.
On Orange UK, you do not need to subscribe to a GPRS 'Bundle' in order to send MMS's, as they are charged at 40p a go!!!
Also from my understanding, currently you cant send MMS cross-networks!! At the moment what Orange UK does it sends the recipient a normal SMS which contains a web address where they can see the MMS that was sent.
Hope this clears up some of your Qs!!
In Singapore, currently according to what i've learn. (I'm using M1 by the way)
Sending of MMS (for M1) is free till further notice. Which is good for me. Heh. 😃 But i've very little friends (or maybe no) holding an MMS enabled phone.
Heh. Also what i know is that in Singapore, users could actually send MMS to cross network operators. 😉
