Hi all,i was wondering if someone could please give me an advice: i have a 9210i,for work i need to recive images that are quite heavy. I've installed switcher as Dazler told me to help the 9210i. But since i often need to move these images from pc to 9210i these images tend to be really heavy. Now,is there a way or a program that allows me to make them lighter so that i can open tthem without waiting ages?Often the 9210i won't even open them! Thank you very much! The Godfather. :-?

what do u mean by heavy?? >>500 KB?
you can view them in the Imaging without openning them..
i didn't heard about a program like that.. sorry.

Hi,

You can always resize the images on your PC. But I guess that's not an option. Try using mbm files instead of jpg. It requires more diskspace but if I'm correct it wll display using less memory.

Hi,

I believe the original images is in high-resolution...(perhaps 300dpi or higher...) by using a professional image editing tools( for me, i use photoshop...) u can change it to a smaller resolution...(like 72 dpi..)

Anyway, my fav. imageviewer for 9210 would be ialbum.. its pretty neat... (u can do slideshow for presentation...) i also have gipviewer, anigif and myphoto... but nothin beats ialbum...

Hi Nosferatu. You hit the point! I'll go get photoshop today and try it!!! For my 9210i you suggested a couple of programs...i don't own a credit card, how can i buy one of these programs from internet? Or is there a chance that some of these programs are freeware? Thanks...The Godfather. 😊

I've downloaded ialbum. I'll try it for a few days...and as soon as i figure out a way of paying i'll let you know! Any suggestions on the payment method? It's the first time i have to buy something from the web!!! 😮ops:

Wow...ialbum is really exellent!!! 😃 .I've just installed it and it has already convinced me 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The trial version is limited but it gives you a good idea of how many things you can do!Thank-you! 😉

😃 Yeah, IAlbum is the ultimate imaging tool it seems... and i think it's the fastest image viewer on Nokia 9200 series Communicator... It supports viewing of BMP, GIF 87/89a (including Animated GIF, multiple frames), JPG, PNG, MBM (including multiple frames), TIFF (including G3, G4 Fax); Max. resolution up to 2560x1920 (depends on your memory)...

p/s: Also supports slide show in manual or automatic transition; very cool for presentation... 😉

Well... u can always get your  friends  with creditcards to purchase it for u and u pay them the cash later... thats how i do it during my early days... 😉

Hi guys,i'd like to buy some software from the software market. My question is: how do they let you download the software? In other words:is there the possibility of installing the software on more devices or do they let you download only a special type of version just for one 9210??! I'm asking this because I have 2 communicators. Thanks!! :P

there are some softwares that will work only on 1 communicator using it's IMEI, and the others work with a registration code only 😉

Hi,

If u are referring to ialbum then YES u have to purchase more than 1 coz it's reg code are based from you IMEI... u can always PM me to know which app is IMEI based and which are not... 😉

p/s: not all apps are based on IMEI...

Hello everybody. I have another fresh question:I'm noticing that my 9210i has became slower especially in my agenda and my messages applicatins. My c rom is completely empty of anything for exeption of the pre-installed applications and my phone database. I have an original nokia 64 mb mmc on which i have insalled add-on softwares and where my data is stored. It is not completely stuffed with files or other things. I have installed switcher to use better my memory,but... Any suggestions? Thank you very much!!!

Hi,

u should actually post this as new topic so that u'll get more replies...

anyway, since i'm already here... well... it's not totally abt empty c drive that makes your 9210 runs faster... it all depends on what apps u use/installed... example:

if u have activedesk, smartmemory, smartsecure, erecorder and all those memorysuckers apps installed/active... your 9210 will definitely get slower even when your c drive is empty... 😉

more or less space on the C rom doesn't make any difference ... This isn't ram, the 92xx doesn't use this memory. THe symbian os doesn't have anything like virtual memory ... so c empty or full ... it would make much difference in speed.
