Hi

My mum has just got a 6680 on vodaphone and we can't get video calling to work.

We have tried with my brothers 6680 which is on 3 and with my other brothers samsung z500 which is on vodaphone.

The message we get is, "video calling not supported by this network"

Any thoughts?? Thanks

Is the phone on 3G mode ?, look at the logo under signal strenght, if not go to menu -> tools -> parameters -> network parameters -> switch gsm to dual mode

if video call still don't work,

1)-> are you under 3g coverage
2)-> is your subscription allow you to make video call over 3G

most likely you need it added to you subscription, even thou you by a videophone they don't automatically add it to your contract, a bit like when SMS & MMS first came along.

Indeed. So, even if you have phones capable of making video calls, two additional things need to be true as well:

1: Your operator must have enabled (provisioned you) for video calls (so, call your operator's customer service and ask them to do that)

2: If you want video calls to go from one operator to another, both operators must have an agreement between themselves, and the network infrastructure must also be set up for that (Vodafone seems to have problems even with receiving MMS from other operator's networks, so they may have even more trouble with video calls, for what I know)
