Nokia 6630 Ringtone problem

Hey i am having problem setting .mp3 file as ringtones however .mid and .3gp seem to work anyone know how to put .mp3 or .aac files as ringtones please thanks.

what network supplied your phone as some are known to cripple certain features

Disabling MP3's as ringtones is, at least, something that Vodafone has done for the 6630's they sell under contract.

exactly....if you want an unlocked (usually) and uncustomised phone then try O2.

oh damn, arghh unfortunately i am under vodaphone😞 its pay as you go. if i get it unlocked to all networks will it be able to work then? :frown:

ISTR that changing the file format from mp3 to aac worked on Vodafone handsets. Easily done using i-tunes.

Unlocking it will only change that it'll be able to use other operator's SIM. The whole firmware would need to be replaced with an unbranded version to get MP3s as ringtones.

this is why I will never touch a vodagroan phone as they are the worst for crippling phones firmware...
