Hi,
I just downloaded the OPL developer kit for Nokia 9200 ( supposed to be compatible with 9300 & 9500 ).
At the moment I only want to install the dev. kit on the device ( not the SDK for PC )
I installed the OPL_DEV.SIS and copied the required *.oxh files to /system/opl/ on the device.
When I try to run the OPL dev program I get the following error "System: Unable to find the specified object"
I very new to the device and OPL so I'd really appreciate any help on this.
Thanks & regards
Jens
For the OPL editor to run you also need to install the correct OPL runtime. If you don't have the OPL runtime installed, the OPL editor doesn't work.
You should NOT install the OPL runtime in the opl developer kit on the 9300, but instead download the 9300/9500 OPL runtime from sourceforge and install this one (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/opl-dev/9500-opl-public-2004-11-28.zip?download).
You can also find an entire installation tutorial on http://www.freeboards.net/index.php?mforum=opldevelopment&showtopic=11
Hope this helps
Arjen
Thanks Arjen,
Actually I already had the runtime installed but I reinstalled it and now it seems to
work fine 😊
Now I have to dig in to the OPL language and start learning. Are there any good language reference or tutorials around ?
Thanks
Jens
Check out the OPL wiki at http://allaboutopl.com/wiki. Also check out Steve Litchfield's excellent OPL tutorial at http://3lib.ukonline.co.uk/progindex.htm.
You can find some other links to developer resources in the links section of my just started OPL forum.
