6682 call log and battery issues

I just got the 6682 and so far I am happy with it.

1) My battery does not last very long, does the Active Standby cause the battery to drain quickly? I have also installed a couple of themes from the internet, would they cause the battery to drain quickly?

2) When my battery dies I lose my entire call log. It is set to keep 30 days, any reason for this?

I also lose my entire call log whenever I turn off or restart my phone. 😡 This sucks. This never happened on my 6620.

However, your call log should be okay just as long as you never turn off your phone or let the battery die. I guess since we no longer need to remove the battery to access the memory card, there's really no reason for us to turn off the phone.

I haven't that kind of problem on 6680, call log doesn't disapear when I turn the phone off or when I remove the battery. may be it's proper to 6682 (I don't think so) or may be your 6682 is faulty.

Are you running lifeblog?

I suspect Lifeblog contributed to battery drain on my Nokia 7610. When Lifeblog was installed, I had to charge my phone daily (I would see %70-80 battery level with minimal use).

I reformatted my phone recently, and did not reinstall Lifeblog. Now I can go two-three days before feeling I need to recharge my phone, based on similar battery level drop.

(The only app I leave running is the Apple iSync Agent.)

Try getting an app like TaskSwitcher, and you can see what processes are always running on your phone.

Of course, there is the possibility that the 6682 just has a higher battery consumption.

Check for viruses or do a format. Seesm to be the case for other people with these problems.

not really sure what lifeblog is, however removing it from the phone has helped battery life substantially.

still don't understand why if the battery runs out or you turn the phone off the call log resets itself, though.

Is anyone with a 6682 losing the call logs after turning the phone off via the power button (not by taking out the battery)?

I took my battery out last night, something I read on another forum, and put it back in this morning and my call log was still intact. Then I turned the phone off and the call log disappered.

Otherwise a great phone!

I also lose my call log which is not good for someone like me who procrastinates when it comes to saving phone numbers of those who call right away. I still love the phone though! I'm sure there is / will be a fix soon enough. 😊

I'm actually scanning for viruses right now however not for that reason. Anyway the phone came like that (call log loss); it was something I noticed on day one (NOT a virus).

Glad to hear I am not the only person with this call log issue.

where did you get a virus scan? the free trial offered virus scan on the nokiausa.com site is not compatible with the 6682.

I've gotten a program called "Commander Anti-Virus" and also tried out the free version of Symantec Mobile Anti-virus. Neither of the programs said I had a virus, and I also have the same issue with the call-log disappearing when i reboot the phone.

I guess all we can do is wait for a new firmware and hope that they dont charge us too much to upgrade.

Hi,
I bought New Nokia 6682 from a website with two year plan from cingular. I had the same problem where i use to lose my call log whenever i turn off the phone. I contacted cingular guyz and they told that its a konw bug and advised me to return the phone and get a new one as it was only a week i got the phone.
So i got my replacement phone and it works perfectly. This problem is there only in few Nokia 6682 phones and if you guyz still have time go and replace with a new one.

Hey Mav- I have this problem on my 6682 as well and always heard it was a Firmware issue... what version is on your new phone? (Press *#0000# to find out)

I think everyone is running V 3.01.1, but I'm curious if your newer phone has a newer firmware or it really is a hardware issue...if it really is the hardware, I'm sending this puppy back!

Also, where did you get your phone from? (I ordered mine from WireFly.com)
