Dont Buy Nokia Phones

16 replies · 5,040 views · Started 21 September 2005

Hello Readers,
I know we all are fond of nokia phones, but this is what makes us fools. NOKIA IS THE WORST BRAND AND I MEAN IT. I have posted lot of information about nokia 7710 but this was all in pain. I want to tell you what happens at the Nokia care centre, everyone goes there waits for 1 or 2 hours for thier turn to come and then after submitting the phone they suffer for a week or month or months. Everyone there is fed up with their phones but no one has the time to take actions and go to consumer court or write articles.
I will share one of the incidence that took place with me. I went to Nokia care centre at Lajpat Nagar and asked them why do New Nokia phones have problems, and the reply that i got from their Chief Employee is that "If there will be no problem in the handset then how will these service centre run". And this is not fake or a joke, i have suffered and there are many more who have suffered this but not willing to take steps.
I had bought my phone (7710) on 5th march 2005 and got it replaced on 22th march and again went to nokia centre at lajpat nagar but service of no help.
Fifth time i went to Nokia centre at Okhla Phase 3 where i submitted it and got it repaired but there is a story behind this repair also.
When i went there to get my phone they denied to give me and told me that it is DEAD i.e not working at all, and when i asked them to return it as it they just refused me and told me to go. I came next day and got it done thankfully.
After 1 week same problem i.e automatically switch off arises and i again went there and this time one of the head executive promised to replace the phone and return back after 1 week. After 9 days i went to take my phone back and i came to know that it is just repaired again and not replaced. I wished to talk to that person and she was not ready to face me and denied meeting me.
I took my phone back and walked away.
Now again the same problem is coming and know i am really fed up with this phone and dont know what to do.

I REQUEST YOU TO NOT TO BUY NOKIA PHONES AND BREAK THEIR MONOPOLY WHICH HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED ATLEAST IN INDIA.

For further details you can contact me.
Thank you.

I think the sales figures and Nokia's reputation for making the best phones on the market kinda disagrees with you. IIRC the service centres have are a franchise and not actually run by or part of Nokia. The quality of service at a specific centre is down to that centre and no doubt Nokia would be happy to have feedback on the quality of service their customers are recieving in these places.

As for your phone, you may have got a duff one, or the 7710 may be really buggy, but it doesn't mean all Nokia devices are, my 9500 hasn't skipped a beat in 10 months of ownership, and I similarly had little problems with my 2 9210s and my 3650.

My friend i have seen atleast 5 customers standing for 9300 and 5 for 9500 and many are there for 7710 and many more.
There is not even one brand left which is not having the problem.
And i am not making these statements for fun, i have all the proofs.
You are the lucky one which is very rare to find.

No my friend U are unlucky one which is VERY RARE to find.
all other brands has more of the same problem, the is NO service better than nokia

that's the reality, not only what I think

I told you that you are lucky and one more thing that is nokia phones which were made earlier were very good but for the last 1 - 2 years the quality has lowered due to Chinese products being mixed that is why you get phones very cheap.
And you are saying that it is not with most of us, my friend please visit the nokia care centre once and you will know the reality.
I know you wont do that because you wont have time and you are the luckiest one too.

Until now (having had different Nokia phones for the last 6 years) I have never experienced any problems with service centres whatsoever.

On the contrary, the service centres in Holland that I went to (of course I also had my share of problems) were all very professional. Agreed, sometimes you have to wait a couple of weeks for your phone being repaired, but that's not different from any other phone vendor.

One good example: my 9210 had to go for repair for 3 times. The first time was inside the warranty period, but the last two were outside the warranty period. Nevertheless I got it repaired for free every time (usually within 2 weeks). The last time I even got a brand new 9210i from the service centre for FREE since the old machine could no longer be repaired without high cost.

One more thing: I have very bad experiences with SonyEricsson's service centres in the Netherlands (and Ericsson before that), but I don't go around telling people that they should never buy a SonyEricsson phone or PDA. It's ok to inform people of the bad experience you have, but please let them make up their own minds whether or not they should buy a particular brand of phone...

I agreed to you my friend but because of this attitude the company is decreasing their quality and customers suffer. You are very lucky that you got new phone because i have already visited 8 times and still no new phone for me.
I shared this to increase the awareness among people so that they should take right step. This is not only my story but this is happening with many more.

Did Nokia do something to your family?

What a load of rubbish about chinese products being inferior. I sense some racism there nevermind that Nokia and Samsung topped the latest figures for least problems in phones with companies like Moto, SE fairing badly.

None of the companies can ever be perfect. It happens some people end up with faulty phones. The place you get them from should sort the problems out provided you let them know within the given time.

Yes, that is true. This 'sumit' person comes off like a forum troll. Either that, or he is simply a tad slow-witted if he thinks that his own, and a few friends', experience with a service centre (not actually affiliated with Nokia) represent how Nokia is as a company, and that an unlucky experience with a faulty device represent the quality of their whole product line.

I would like to tell you that these care centres are affiliated to nokia and they work on terms and condition of nokia company. Tell me if you get a new phone which switches off automatically then who is responsible for that ?
And you dont know how these companies raise their ratings.

Please mind your language and its true this is all because of chinese products which has spoiled the electronic market.Cheap products are being produced with low quality and reliability.

Obviously Nokia is responsible for THEIR products, but you get a warranty with each product, and as long as your device became faulty under that warranty period, through no fault of your own, then you are entitled to get it fixed or replaced. Now, if the service centre don't accommodate you, then THEY are to blame. It is NOT directly Nokia's fault. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

You should try another service centre or another service channel all together.

Hi sumit, amit here from nagpur really whatever u r said all r absolutly write i also have the bitter experience regarding nokia people i also want to share my experiences but latter i will tell u in details

hello my friend
these services r done by ur company in india not nokia i was in india for 2 month and i saw ur services not just in nokia centers but in all ur places
so dont blame the phone or nokia company for ur people mistakes. i want to know something y all of u in india r like this ? u dont work honestly thats ur problem. change ur attitude with people and all the problems in india will be solved, iwas suffering from ur people while i was in india, the most simple problems is ur working hours ur shops opens from 10:30 til 1 o'clock is that enough for all the customers , u know in india there r many nokia users , in my country working hours begins from 7 till 2 also there r evening working hours not to mention ur nice employees that take any chance just to run away from their work .
i dont want to talk too much about this cuz u can see it every where in india , so dont blame nokia blame india on carelessness

ahmedakb wrote:i dont want to talk too much

You have already talked too much and I hope the administrator will be quick to remove this racist bullshit.

UA

First of all I would like to tell you that Nokia is not India based company and moreover Nokia gives training and all centres are authority centres.
You were talking about our people , for kind information most of the people in other countries are Indians and they are known to be hard working not like you all who doesnt care about anyone nor even your close ones.I know how honest are you and your attitude too.So you are not the right person to tell us this.
About the timings let me inform you that shops in India open from 10am to 8pm and some of them even later than that. I think you were talking about timings (" the most simple problems is ur working hours ur shops opens from 10:30 til 1 o'clock is that enough for all the customers" ) of your place because you dont know anything about India. And to let you know one more thing We are not escapist as everyone knows who were thrown out and from where and when.
And Dont ever Try to Blame India otherwise It wont be Good for you.
I know this might cause a ban on me but i think this was neccessary.
