unlocking question

my 6680 is locked to movistar. they have no code as yet thats what i was told. could i when back in the uk, take my phone to a nokia centre and ask them to flash it to the latest firmware telling them a few lies that its simfree, and when they flash it would this unlock it from movistar or do i have wait for the code 🙄

You'd need to wait for the code - flashing it wouldn't remove the network lock (if only it were that easy......)
