HAHA....When you say making fun of the Admin's I think you mean me 😃

I went on a little crusade last week and i'm getting death threats from people ever since.....Is there a way to block an IP address from the forum or is it only Usernames?

Anyway, We could get more Admins if you wanted, but I still think it will continue as the 7650 has sold in such large numbers so quickly, people WANT warez.

You have to remember this is one of the largest Symbian "communitys" on the web. If someone types 7650 in Google this is one of the first sites they will come across.

Anyway, are you saying the 7650 mods aren't doing a good job? 😉 😃

I'll try and keep on top of it a bit more, but I only seems to get hassle (Not just from the "Guests"😉

Actually we don;t appear on the first page for "7650," but "7650 Forums" and we swap it! But the point is taken!

Two Thoughts:

Is there a way of putting a paragraph of text on the "Reply To Topic" for Guest Users explaining our policy?

Should we restric Guest Users to only being able to REPLY and not START ing a new thread?

Good ideas!, I'm not 100% on the no New Threads one, it may work but with so many existing threads it isn't hard to ask on a releated "software" thread.

It also makes it harder to spot as they normally use "GIMMIE ALL YOUR WAREZ OR I'LL BLOW YOUR SOCKS UP!" which sticks out like a sore thumb.

I've also made ": )" a 7650 moderator, so there's some more help 😃

Both of those should be possible. I'll have a look into it. I also think we should sort out a more specific AUP (acceptable user policy)

Umm.. how about a reminder, or a very obvious note or something that could remind everyone here, and notify the new users that this is not a crack/warez forum, and no such things will be tolerated here. Cause it's happening by the minute, new users are'nt reading all the announcements and stuff, and they're just posting about full versions and stuff!!

A big message or whatever you find appropriate.

How about a page after you click the forum link from the main page with the Rules and Regulations of the forum, then a link at the bottom to take you into the forum.

So it would be:

Front Page -> Rules and Regulations -> Forum.

You'd still be able to URL the forum direct. Only way to show it is to add it to the top of the POST A REPLY or POST A NEW TOPIC page...

I think it still is, inevitably though things chnage as the community grows. I think if we keep on top of the warez issue it will gradually die down. Afterall if people find their messages deleted they wont bother, the most irritatin are the repeat offenders. Also having an obvious reminder will help.

Grr...It's really starting to annoy me now, I'm a pretty relaxed sort of a person but I keep having to tell the same people the same thing 3-4 times before they understand! They keep coming back with different questions!
