Whenever I try to access my missed/received/dialled calls list from either the phone side or the communicator side, it says "Device Memory not ready" from the phone side and "Note: Corrupted" from the Communicator side. I already tried rebooting.
Any ideas? As much as possible, I'd like to avoid reformatting. 😊
Try checking your call log... (tel->tools->log)
clearing the call log often is good to speed up missed/received/dialled calls list... 😉
i didn't clear my log since i bought the phone, about 2 months, and everything ok..
It all depends on how heavy u use your 9210 for making/receiving calls... 😉 i have a fren which got at least a hundred calls a day... 😮
p/s: nope, he's not a pimp...
Uh, my logging feature isn't working also....😞
Halp! I really don't want to reformat it...the last time I tried it, I had to bring it to Nokia to have it done (and I had to pay it).
Reinstalling/Reformatting is always the best solution i'm afraid...
U can do it yourself actually... we are all here to guide u... 😉
I'm really getting irritated with my 9210. I think my memory chips are corrupted. Whenever I reformat and install the package software, it always says "File or Directory is corrupted." I tried installing the .SIS files individually, but whenever I hit the 3120K mark of free memory (from the 3800K or something level), the same message appears. It also happens when I try to install the package file for the memory card.
I'm going to Nokia one more time, to have them check out the memory modules, the connector at the bottom (my connection to the PC via the cable always gets interrupted), and to reinstall all the communicator and memory card software. If, after all that, it fails one more time, I'm unloading this phone and I'm getting a t68i with a palm tungsten.
I love this phone, but if I can't even use it properly, then what's the point?
:P Yeah 9210 can be a real pain in the ass sometimes... hehehe... and to the unlucky ones, its all the time... hehehe..
Anyway, "File or Directory is corrupted." usually happened when your c or d drive is in really bad shape...fragmented... due to a lot of install/uninstall or even file moving...
what u can try is formatting it more than once... it might sound ridiculuos but it did fix-up my frenz problem which is similar to yours... in fact it's worse actually... the PC cant even detect his 9210...
p/s: well, if your 9210 is still under warranty... u know what to do.. 😉
Nosferatu...about my c:rom problem...
recently i've been playing around installing programs and trying them...
After a few days I dis installed them...
This could have affected my c:rom?
It could all be fragmented with old files...actually I could see traces of old programs that i don't have any more in the system part of file manager!!!
Do you suggest to format?! 😮

Thanks
Well, I just checked in my non-warranty 9210 into Nokia today. Will probably get it by tomorrow (most likely thursday, considering the number of units being repaired by the service center).
Well, fragmented or not, it's irritating. I love my phone, considering the size, and it serves me really well. I also got it coz I hate lugging around my phone, palm, and mp3 player.
But if it can't even work properly, I'm inclined to give it up. I mean, if what Nosferatu's saying is true, that it could've been due to the fact that I could've been installing / uninstalling a lot of files over and over again (though I don't think I did), then that sucks -- why should the design and specs hamper me as to what I want to do with my unit if it was designed (supposedly) to take that kind of activity?
I guess I'm just one of the unlucky ones who got a pretty loused up 9210. The tech people at Nokia said that they would reflash everything -- including the firmware -- to try and see if my memory chips are defective. Then they'll reinstall everything -- the firmware, the communicator software, and the memory card software. But I'm 90% decided to sell it and to go for a SonyEricsson t68i coupled with a Palm Tungsten (and maybe a Bluetooth headset to go along with it 😃).
Sigh. I hate having to part with a new phone after just 6 months, but this is killing me already.
I have sometimes have this problem when wanting to quickly dial a number after i've just finished a call, you just have to be patient and wait! 😞 😞
I have that issue as well...I don't think it's an issue, i think the processor of the 9210 isn't that fast, thus it needs some time to "register" that call in it's memory. 😊
I had and still have this problem Often. I even put a topic wich was never read :P.
Anyhow, I related this Memmory not ready with the fact that I was using 3 contacts databases on MMC.
And sometimes, When I have one app hanging with the panell open (low Ram ressources) If I get a call and answer, it is never listed in the log (Front and PDA panell)
You have to live with it, there no f..ng way I could solve this issue.
