do they work together??
if so what can i expect,, if there are problems what are they, does any of the menus in tom tom 5 mobile not work on the phone?? or are there any glitches i need to be aware of??
NOKIA N70 and TOM TOM 5 MOBILE
Mine works fine..... no known problems !!!
Out of curiousity, if you have Full Screen Caller working, and TomTom Mobile active (say your driving in the car with TomTom GPS guiding you) and the phone rings, does the Full Screen Caller interrupt with TomTom? Do you still see the directions?
Any ideas?
Now that I haven't tried.... only had it a while and not actually taken a call whilst using TT!
I'll try and check it out, but from what I can gather, no matter what you are running, TT takes over the screen with it's instruction mode....
But an interesting and valid point.... I'll post my results when known! (If someone else on here doesn't already know the answer)

Anyone have any ideas? Should be getting my larger chip ASAP?
Cheers 😊
and what happens if you have a caller when tom tom 5 is running. let me know please!
does tom tom require u to pay for monthly service? i really would like to have it on my n70..but have no idea what to do =X
tom tom does not require a montly payment, you can buy the official maps from tom tom at around 200 (there other ways to get copies like thru ebay) though this is bad! and will set you back about 10
you can choose to update the maps and become a tom tom plus member which gives regular updates this costs each time you go into the site and download.
just wondering if anyone has this fully working on the n70 nokia or not. Also whether there are problems using tom tom and then recieving a telephone call in the car, what happens to Tom Tom???
do tell!need information urgently!
does anyone have nokia n 70 or tom tom 5 mobile and are there problems??? help urgently required as i looking to buy one today!what happens when recieving a telephone call and tom tom is on?? do any functions not work correctly??
N70 and TomTom work fine....
When you get a call, the screen goes into navigation by instruction mode, so you don't get any voices talking over you.
and it definitely works 100 % on the n70?? if so i will place my order cheers for the information so far peeps
hi, having few problems installing tom tom to my memory card keeps coming up with "cannot excecute application security setting" problems, anyone able to help, experienced the same?? just need to get it working within the 7 day trial, help!
Hi Fingermouse !
I am also in a dilema about forking out 200 for TomTom Mobile 5 for my new
n70.
A lot of people on the site seem to be running the software with no problems, but there are a few people with problems, I called TomTom and they said the n70 wasn't supported as yet, but I get the impression that they are just being cautious until they have tested it fully on the n70 !?
Please let me know if you manage to get it working ....I have seen the package for 175 online and would like to order it asap !!
I know you can get copied versions on ebay but I would prefer to buy the original software and receiver.
Hope you get it working !!....please let me know how it goes ! 😊
Rus
Lots of people selling TOM TOM 5 on ebay for around 30-40 depending on the size of the memory card. Some people on this forum tell us to avoid buying it on a preinstalled memory card like this. Why? Whats the problem?
Has anyone bought it this way? Were there any problems?
Also what reciever should I buy if I am going to do this - bearing in mind I want to cut down the costs as much as possible!!!
Would be very interested to hear how people got on.
Cheers
That'll be your software Security settings...
Theres another thread on here about installing software issues... look it up and it'll tell you how to switch it off!
Don't have my phone on me right now otherwise I'd guide you to it...
Shout again if you can't find it!!

How can you guys say that tomtom 5 mobile works fine with n70???
The program works for me to, but there are a lot of problems😮
This is my problems:
I have a n70 with gps evermore bt700 and hs-11w headset. When I try to take a voicecall while navigating with tomtom, the screen turns grey for a while (the call works). When the tomtom-screen reappears the gps-signal is lost😞
I can't reconnect gps, unless I turn the phone off/on.
Anyone got similiar problems? I have the firmware released 12.09.05.
A rutine checking of tomtom website shows me that a new mobile 5 update is announced!!! This is version 5.20 and runs with bt-driver 1.21.
http://tomtom.com/support/product.php?ID=50&Language=1&FID=3571
Have anyone tried this? On the new compability list it says that it now covers n90, but n70 is not listed. While were on it. Perhaps someone has gotten a crack for the new update as well😉
Hi All
I have just received TomTom Mobile 5 and installed it on my newly aquired n70....So far all seems well....I have just done a trial run for about 20 miles and it worked flawlessly !!...happy days ! .....
😊 😊 😊 😊 :icon14: :icon14: :icon14: :icon14:
And I'm assuming your using the TT original BT receiver...not the dreaded BT-77 that everyone else seems to be having problems with???? :icon14: :icon13:
Correct !!!
I just bit the bullet and got the latest TT receiver and software from Handtec for 190....
I figured I would rather spend the money and get the latest receiver etc ! ...
All seems great so far !!....😃
Sounds like you got it sorted then..... maybe that goes some way to prove the issues that some others are having?!
I was using Tom Tom mobile 5 on my 6600, then 6230, then 7610 all worked perfectly, then I upgraded to n70, had to buy a new memory card and transfer the data over by cable, Now Tom Tom will run correctly for anything between 10 mins to 1 hour, then it stops and says "No GPS device", you have to turn the phone on and off again to reset it any ideas ?? (my reciever is the bt gps reciever)
