how do i format the device itself?

hi guys, just got a 9210 from a friend, but i cant seem to figure out how to format the whole thing cuz i want to start from the beginning. i got to format the mem card, but i want to format the phone too. is it a good idea?

how do i format the device itself?

If you know what you are doing then starting with a clean 92xx is always better.

First check out your firmware(press *#0000# on phone side) and download 2 sis files, 1 called all_nokia_data.sis and another one something like _allmemorycard_data.sis

Get it from www.nokia.com

then press shift - ctrl -f when rebooting the phone (before the hands) this will format the phone. To format the mcc use filemanager.

thanks a lot. i think i have those two .sis files on the CD that came with it. my firmware is 4.13

is that ok?

Yes, if u got the CD, no problemo.. Anyhow, better to check for other 413 version of sis files on nokia page if you get stuck.

Good luck and remember to back-up after installing basic apps. It will help you restore from a clean point when you want to 😉

Even though your firmware is 4.13 doesn't mean that your CD got the same version... coz sometimes the previous owner might have upgraded the firmware... like me, my 9210 is 4.13 but my CD got a 3.64... so the CD is basically useless...

So it's better for u to check the apps version of the CD...
If its not 4.13 then u can download it from the net... 😉
