"The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later."

According to the host there's been an unexpectedly high level of incoming traffic today, possibly a DoS attack. It may have been the flood guard controls kicking in that stopped you acessing the server.

If its happened outside today can you let me know so I can do some more digging. Access has been OK for me recently. Still working on optimising speed (there's only so much I can do with a server located in the mid west US).

Happened again today a couple of times.

I was seeing similar things yesterday, slow connect times were the main one.

I haven't checked my visitor stats yet, but I don't think there was a mass download attempt yesterday...

Still seeing "Server is too busy messages". Today is ok, but yesterday it happened almost continuously.

I'm not getting any of those problems, I keep getting the "To help protect your security...active content bla bla"

Is this to do with the adverts at the top?

Hopefully I have sorted some of these problems now. The site is getting more popular and so at peak times there can be difficulty if the server gets locked up (the server should be enough, but if something upsets it - well it takes longer to recover).

Also very sluggish performance on Symbian Themes, although that could partly be due to the extra security implemented on the site after it was hacked.

Stilling getting 'em darn server errors at least once a day.

We're bumping against the servers capability. Going to do more about this after Christmas, but unntil then am doing my best to keep everything optimised.

Today would have been bad because there were some rogue processes that got away.
