some linux ports of some different games in the works. At least 3-5 quite decent. 😊 The best.. they are for free. 😊

Is any working on porting Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator (MAME) for the P800. That would be a great way to play 100's of classic games!
Also an emulator(handy) for the old Atari Lynx handheld. Games are already the correct size.

Check this out:

Very nice indeed, but how do you control the games with the P800??? No buttons there, should you use stylus as in MIBII??? Or maybe very special jog dial controls???

LOl

yeah that is strange and also i can imagine ppl play with the jog dial to steer a car game

but i maybe it;s fun lets just wait until P800 is out

Looking closer at the pictures I see that it's Leisure Suit Larry that's being ported to UIQ, which is so cool, all good ol' adventure games coming to P800, thats genius!!!! You can play that fine with stylus, as they were played with the mouse!! I cant wait to play that old police adventure (what's it called again???), I was a huge fan of that!!!

Now I'm even more excited about P800... 😃 😃 😃

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!! You're killing me man, I want those games fast, was searching for it and just found it, came back and you have a SCREENSHOT!!!!
F*CKING A!!!!!!!! Police Quest rules man, what else are you developing??

Would love to see these games, for good old times sake:

Another World
The Secret of Monkey Island
Sam and Max hit the Road (maybe too much for p800)
Kings Quest

jogdial (3 way, up down & do it), and pen navigation depending on the game. You can also use other keys on the P800 for various functionality. But usually control, specially for arcade type games are quite hard, but adventure like games rocks.

Wow man, playing those retro adventure games sounds so cool, what company do you work for, or are you doing this for fun?? How much will the games cost, or will they be free? Java or SIS?? I have so many questions......

For Sierra adventure games.. It is a port of the Sarien (sarien.sourceforge.net) AGI interpretor. You need the orginal game files to play the game (from pc, amiga, mac etc). The actual interpretor is quite small, around 100 KB, + the size of the games (PQ1 is around 360 KB). For other games, they are either written from scratch or linux game ports. And as we all know, linux games are for free, so will these be.

Well.. here is my latest attemp. but.. needs some fixing before it compiles for target. Anyone good with strange template implementations!?

But alas.. ScummVM port for Symbian OS. Fits nicely on a P800 screen! 😊

Wow, is this for real ? LSL veterans are eager for a demo to try out !

Remember the place in the game where Larry is making a phone call outside some liquour store ? That was a bit intriguing back then.

Now it could be implemented actually making a real call or connecting to a web site.

Are the original LSL game developers (Sierra?) still around ? 8)

Regards,

i have question for these games!!you are run them on a dos emulatro or you are making them exactly code to run in the phone??????????if the second where can anyone can find the code to do something like that??

They usually share some kind of common interpretor, this is true for old Sierra games (AGI), newer Sierra games (SCI), old Lucas Artgames (SCUMM), and Infocom text adventures (z). There exist open source interpretors for linux for all of these, and it is just a matter of porting these to the Symbian platform. As today all of these has been ported in one way or another, then you take your old datafiles from your pc/amiga or atari st version, and run together with your native coded interpretor. The result is really good, including better graphics than the orignial (higher resolutions, better colours etc), and better sound( multichannel for sierra games instead of single beeps), and better controllability(possibility to use the mouse, pen etc).

See the posted screenshots for actual results

thats vey interesting! i know of the games machines i just didnt think of it! i wonder why none difnt this for the 9210 series it would be great!
