Hey guys...
I've just finished a program which will convert AMR to WAV and vice versa. If anyone would like a copy of this, just stick your email addy in this thread and I'll mail it out. It's on version 1.0 at the moment, so there may be a few bugs left to iron out. If there's enough interest shown, I'll post it on the site somewhere.
Mike
hit me! [email protected] is this prog for the phone or for the pc? where do you make the conversion? 8)
Thanks in advance spikeymike, here is my add: [email protected]
I haven't put WAV2AMR in this version as it was proving to be slightly problematic (Convert.exe will only take 8KHz sampled, 128KBsec wav files for those that are interested!).
I've tested this program, and it all seems to work. Let me know if you have any problems with converting certain files - if a file is too large it will probably throw up an error, but as there is a maximum file size on the 7650 that shouldn't be a problem.
Enjoy!
Spikey
And with the attachment this time! 😉
I'm downloading it right now and starting some heavy testing!!
😃
nice, finally! thanks spikeymike! 😃
Hello
I've downloaded the wav2amr converter,but i don't know how to use it,
anyone can help?
thank you
I also had some problems.
The software is buggy (at least if you want to convert a wave to amr).
There is a file named converter.exe as well as two .bat files. Ignore the batch files, you will only need the executable.
Now copy the files you want to convert in the same directory.
From the command prompt (Dos):
If you want to convert an amr to wav thats easy type
"converter amr2wav source.amr destination.wav"
If you want to convert a wav to amr you will have a hardtime, believe me.
type:
"converter amr2wav source.wav destination.amr MRXXX"
where XXX a number (475,515,59,67,74,795,102 and 122 are valid numbers)(I don't know what this MR thing is but I think it is related with the bitrate or something like that)
Where source is the file we want to convert and destination the name of the converted file we want it to have.
WARNING:The convertion of wav2amr is case sensitive so you have to type MRxxx and not mrxxx (you'll get an error message elsewhere).
I haven't tested amr2wav but I have heard it is working great. The wav2amr is buggy.I had varius problems, mostly some crashes of the program in windows (illegal operation) and even when I got an amr it was a very bad convertion, maybe it is related with the 16bit 8kh limitation.
I'll try to convert the waves to the above specifications (16bit 8kh)and after that convert them to amr and then I'll tell you the results.
MemphisX... I too had loads of problems getting WAV2AMR to work properly. I gave up on putting in in the program so that I could get a quick version out... 😊
Let us know how it works!
me too, [email protected]. thanks in advance...
There is an alternative sound compresion to AMR that 7650 supports.
I have created a thread with it just check it out...
