My last phone (Windows Mobile 5 :frown😊 had 2 multi-coloured leds, 1 for battery related and network signal information, the other for information re WiFi, Bluetooth, messages etc. I found them really handy but I doubt if the people who are unhappy with the N80 led flashing at night would be thrilled 😃

I tried this but the Taskman tool does not terminate the application .. so nothing there ... 😡

Not seeing the blue light doesn't stop it flashing and draining the battery...

Hi, I'm not sure if my phones the same as you guys but mine did that annoying flashing blue light thing on sleep mode as well until:
I went to profiles, personalise, light indicator.... and switched off.

That's what I always do, or i'll put it under my pillow(That's really bad for our health).

Maybe the blue light is designed for the ppl who look for his phone at night lol.

Far less of a drain than everything else on the phone, and certainly far less than having the screen powered and a screensaver running (see my comment below about that). The software to run the light will make virtually no difference to the power consumed compared to the power taken to run the OS. The blink of the LED every few seconds will take next to nothing in power either.

It's simply designed to indicate the phone is on, as to save power amongst other things, the screen is completely powered off when not in use. The idea is to provide an indicator to show it is switched on, as a traditional screensaver can't be used.

With OLED displays this will be even more important as the displays have a short life span and must be powered off whenever possible.

I agree. killing this big huge oversized led would save a lot of battery. perhaps not requiring to recharge ..ever . again 😃 looool

Fear not, simple fix. take the cover of and very carefully position a smal screwdriver, like a torx6 over the led. and then ..very very extremely gently "position" the... aham... hammer 😊))))
