can you verify that nokia 6680 can be unlocked in the uk by the proper channels i.e orange, o2, whatever. i have a 6680 contract movistar ive had it a year now, but as im coming back to live in the uk, they will not unlock my phone, tried to tell me its so new they cannot do it, tried to offer me better deals for uk usage i said no i wanted it unlocked, so best of all here is what they told me to do, go to the little back street chinese man who can unlock it for me, guess what they said no its down to MOVISTAR who wont do it.. i cannot believe thats what they told me to do and i did...so now i have useless movistar phone that cant be unlocked so i will have to buy another surely can i report this to nokia or anybody, so profesional NOT... DO NOT BUY MOVISTAR as they are rip off merchants hope your reading this, i live in denia spain, and you dont tell your staff to tell me to go to a back street man, sorry to go on but im livid at this, so willing to take your money arent they..:icon13:

Yes you can get a 6680 unlocked by your operator in the UK
Buy an orange SIM card and tell them you have a handset you wish to unlock. Tell them all about it before they calculate the code, because if they assume it is one of their handsets, they'll probably calc the wrong code..
I personally would have thought that one network wouldnt be allowed to unlock another network's phones, but you can ask, and you must make sure they understand it's not their unit.
Also, take it to an Orange store, because if they give you the wrong code, and youenter it 3 times incorrectly, it's locked to movistar forever.. (apparently) 😞
If it was an orange rep that entered it wrong and locked your phone, it's their fault, and you can oblige them to replace it for you. Be aware though, they might refuse, and simply say its not for them to deal with - actually quite a reasonabbe statement seeing as they want to sell you a phone and make more money out of you
the phone is locked to movistar only. but i want it unlocked so i can go to the uk and use it. so i assume only movistar can unlock it. or would they unlock it in the uk even though its not 02,orange. t mobile.vodaphone

With regard to your email concerning Unlock Codes for your Nokia phone, only the
provider can supply these codes as it is locked to their network. If they will
not supply the codes this is their choice. We cannot provide the codes ourselves
and may not be legally allowed.

thats what i call aftercare not.
just contacted movistar again they said no, so said im canceling my 1 year contract they told me i cant do that either ,it is next month the year is up, so give up not paying and leaving the country

comments as feedback. As mentioned previously though the provider will decide
