Why are people bothering with .wav files? they take up too much space and they sound bad!!!
Stick to the .mid for a true ringtone sound
If you want tin like mono sounding rubbish get yourselves a Sony J5.

have you ever tried one? i only have one midi ringtone that is clear AND loud! every other midi's are too quiet ! can't hear them in noisy and crowdy places! and they are some good wav files outthere just like J2theIZZO's DJ Kool ringtone!!

can somebody give me a software which i can increase the volume and clearliness of a midi file! don't get me wrong in here cuz i have both midi and wav, the problem is i don't hear them midi's outdoor! so what a brother gotta do?? i need my phone! i'm always on the road!!

Midi are just like some dude playing a keyboard trying to copy his favorite tune and doing a bad job of it 😃
Wav's can sound REALLY BAD, it's how you make them. If you re-sample them and play around with the volume a little, it is clean, crisp and most importantly LOUD.
All the ones i've made are 20 second + long thats why they are so big.
If you made it a bit shorter, then you can get them @ 100kb.
I know what your going to say next!, "Midi are about 4 years long and take up 1Kb!"........WHO CARES, THEY ARE JUST LOOPS OF CRAP SOUNDING KEYBOARD MUSIC!!!!

Ok, but i reallly like to have different ringtone to each of my contacts.
that is nearly impossible with wavs, unless you cut the file to 1 second long
and have really crappy sound with it. 😞
it would be a different story with N3650 and 128meg memory card 😃 😃

I know what you mean about the volume but with programmes such as WIDI 2.7 you can amend this so the volume is substanially louder.
Anyway i thought that the idea was to get the best version of a track in a ringtone style so you can laugh at those whose versions are rubbish.
It defeats the point in my eye's having the actual track on your phone.
Anyways, since you have all been so nice to me i have uploaded the file (in 2 parts) with the 70+ .mid files for you to use at your leisure.
In return (not that i want anything much) if any of you could point me in the direction of any .mid So Solid Crew tones it would be highly appreciated.

i've always noted i go for mids and for me they're perfect, quality and size too. my best midi is smooth (i posted it here somewher) 25kb, and i've also got a good christmas mid, jingle bell rock (also posted here somewhere). i have tons of them in my phone. but ei, what's the hassle in trying out wavs! they also sound great, you just need to re-sample them as per Jizzo (16000hz, 8bit mono). what i did is delete all my mids (a total of about 200kb) and load two wavs. there... 😃
i voted for wav as musical genre i like don't have midi versions

i've tried to convert some wav files i got yesternight, but my problem is, the songs that i got, have a lot of bass and since our 7650 is only mono, it doesn't sound that good!
so what i did, is lessen the bass a little and then voil�! there you go! you can here almost every instrument being played! it really sounds great!!
my best midi is still and will be "Break yo neck" ! it's here somewhere!!

WAV's are cool! It depends on how you edit them though, you can get a mix of high volume, excellent quality, and about 400 kb space 😃
Mind the space, some of the wavs are really loud and crisp.

You see this is what i mean.
Too much space makes sharing a difficulty.
The 7650 only has about 4.5 meg available and no option to upgrade
which in my eyes is the only let down of the phone.
So when it comes in the next six months that you will be able to download FM radio apps and more and more exciting stuff .wav will have to give way.

i use the eminem lose yourself wav as a call ringing tone, i use the busta rhymes break ya neck midi as a message alert, its very loud and nice.
well i got 3 different profiles! in general i use DJ Kool.wav as a ringtone, In my profile "office" i use my Break yo Neck midi and the other one is silent!!

well the break your neck midi is originally from me! a friend of mine who is a music producer made it for me, that's why it's loud and nice ! i may have to ask him if he can make some more for me !
i mean he should cuz after convincing him that the 7650 is the greatest phone in the market right now, he bought one! Now he should make some midis for him and for me !! 😃
correct me if im worng but i thought you could also have WAV files that were cd quality ie the files on audio cds were recorded in wav but is this a different wav format all together?
