No trial?... No thanks. Now off I go to some other *wink* site in search of my sis
At the risk of sounding like someone who reads the Daily Telegraph, whatever happened to Draughts?
Will we be eating fish and fries soon?
Hi,
We are somewhat perplexed by the statement that the piece selection + moving keys are unintuitive !
The jog dial cycles though those pieces that have legal moves - why would you ever want to attempt to move to a piece that cant be moved !. Once a piece is selected the jog dial cycles though the legal destination squares for that piece - why would you ever want to try to move a piece to an illegal destination sq ?.
Its pretty unclear how this is unintuitive !
Given practially all moves in Draughts are diagonal and the jog dials have up/down/left/right then cycling though legal destinations only you typically only need to press the jog dial once to get to the destination, compared to an up then across = 50% less finger wear - if nothing else our testers are grateful for this !!.
PS - we dont support Email based games - only SMS and bluetooth - bit of a typo I expect -😊
Trial versions...
Our prediction is that there will be significantly less trial versions available for S60 3rd edition and UIQ 3rd edition apps.
i) in many cases there is a requirement to have trial versions Symbian Signed with the associated costs - (about 500Euros per use if you happen to choose Cap Gemini) else the app cant run on devices.
ii) the above in itself is not an outright killer, what really causes problems is that if developers actually abide by the distributor site agreements to which they sign up to when they put products on sites then for every single site you want to put a trial version on you have to have a different version of the app directing customers back to the original site. Each different version - even though its only a bit of text that has changed has to be re-signed. So lets say we have 10 sites - that could be 5000 Euros spent on trial versions alone.
Will no trial versions lead to lower sales, almost certainly yes.
Will the additional expense incurred by having to sign trial versions be met by the increased sales and/or increased per product costs - the jury's out on that one for now as far as we can measure.
