Thought it would be good to report bugs in here that we can all share, it will also help reduce the repeat problem threads posted. It would be great if Nokia technicians would read it and take note  :icon14:
Ok so the bugs I've noticed so far:
Firmware: V 3.0617.0.6
1. There's a major flaw between the WAP and proper 'Web Browser' where the change of the default Access Point in one app affects the default in the other. The bug also extends to refusing to list Packet Data A.P's as possible connection options.
2. Activating a Speed Dial sometimes restarts the phone (more often than not straight after you slide the phone open)

Haha, you will be lucky, Nokia dont even read their own forum on their own websites according to the Nokia mods, and even though the Mods work for Nokia they are unable to communicate problems with nokia because they say their forum is for discussion and not feedback.
Cant think of a bug yet, but I guess I will think of one soon
But still its a good idea to have a bug thread, maybe Rafe can make it sticky
If you set a bookmark that is long (i.e. "Transport for london - live tube news"😉 the browser crashes. Edit the text to something shorter (e.g. "live tube news"😉 and it works fine.

I've noticed that this refusal to list all APs also extends to refusing to show my Home WLAN AP for a Java app I have, yet still showing "Search for WLAN" and all other GSM network options. 😡
Has anyone noticed a bug with their N80, where, when the phone rings with an incoming call, the screen is scrambled?
I've noticed this on my phone. I'll get a call and the graphics on my screen are all scrambled.
Once I hang up, the screen goes back to normal.
Any thoughts?

That happens to me too. Sometimes I cant even see who is calling... If I press any button, the screen goes straight and then I can see whos calling and press the call button to answer.
My browser crashed 3x today, viewing howardforums hehe, and I just got the N80. Not a good start.
Yeah, I get the caller name distortion and browser crashes and also I have some mp3's for ringtones that go into slowmode play when someone rings... very wierd! 😡
Other annoyances would be 'some' sms's come from 1st name, last name and others come from last name, first name...
My N80 has been uppdated one time. V3 0617.0.6
I also have the scrambled screen sometimes.
Web browser allways crash when I move the cursor to the top of the screen.
Photos seem out of focus when I look at them in the gallery sometimes.
FYI, Ive just sorted the first name, last name issue with SMS inbox out but not sure why its doing it in the 1st place. 😊
VSKtommy, if I have a few photos in the gallery and Im moving thru them quickly they show out of focus too... if I pause tho they come into focus. Mainly so the phone doesnt need to use much mem to display a full MP pic and can use a lower quality one.
Wow! I don't know where to start, I think most people have these troubles. My firmware is: v3.0617.0.6
1) The gallery's main function is to crash, and ALWAYS when coming out of the editor.
2) The lock phone menu item does not appear in the power button list when just starting the phone and it is closed.
3) In the browser you cannot use the edit key to copy text from input boxes (it should even let you copy text from the web page itself)
Thats all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there is more.
[LIST=1]
[*]It doesn't handle multiple contact vcf files correctly (only sees the first contact in the file)
[*]Always connects to packet data services when phone is first switched on, even when set to connect only when needed. Although I'm not sure whether this is just a bug with my Orange phone or not.
[*]Browser seems to crash regularly when viewing secure http sites, particularly when the the certificate does not belong to the domain name entered in to the browser. Mine freezes in 100% of these cases, when I'd normally expect to see a warning.

Can you give me a website where you have this problem with the secure sites and I will check now

The main one I use regularly which causes a problem is the web gui for my internal IPCop machine which I use for routing my net, but you won't be able to access this anyway. However, I can mimic the problem with any https site if I substitute the sites web address for its IP address, eg;
If I enter https://ibank.barclays.co.uk it works fine. However, if I enter https://62.172.239.139/ the browser will freeze. If I enter this IP address in to Firefox on my desktop, I get the Barclays site but with a warning about the certificate.

https://62.172.239.139/ works fine in my N80 browser...goes straight to the "welcome to barclays online banking" page.
I did have a similar problem with my pc and trying to access secure websites, but that was a modem/router problem, I had to install old version firmware back into my modem/router.....but I cant see this being a problem with you because you can access the sites through your pc..
Hmmmmmmmmm, thats a bit strange then. I'll have a play around tomorrow and see if I can figure out what the problem is
when I type the address https://62.172.239.139/ the browser asks if I want to accept the certificate, so I accept and it goes straight to the barclays site..No problem
Thats what I was expecting to see on mine as well. I'll try and figure out whats wrong this evening when I get home

Did you try with different wifi connections, do you have a hotspot at work or maybe you know a free one in a restaurant or bar you can try ?
If you try this at least you can dismiss that its your wifi connection at home.
You could also try another browser like opera untill you sort the problem
