OK, i have downloaded and installed both diego and pheonix (2006) correcty, but cant find any instructions with what to do after that. I have all the software, and the new firmware but dont actually know how to use either of them! are there any further instructios about?
After installing pheonix
you need BB5 Reaper its a program which will take you through the process step by step it even has links for the downloads, do a google search or check the flashing thread, flashing your phone cant be rushed take it easy follow the steps and you will do just fine 😊
i tried to donload reaper, but when i open it it says 'this is not a valid Win32 Application' and closes down, so i downloaded all of the components seperatly. I have flashed my phone once previosly, just cant remember how!
I am also unable to download BB5 Reaper. Think it may be something to do with my ISP being BT. Anyway, I have installed all the software but am unsure what to do in Phoenix. My phone is not detected when I go to Update Software. I did select USB connection.
It says something like "prommer not found", "phone serial number not found" "FLS cannot initialise" etc. etc. Does my phone have to be in offline mode? I remember when I flashed my phone with the older software it only worked when my phone was on.
Would be great if someone could write step by step instruction once the software is installed...

Make sure you do a File > Scan Product first, before trying to flash the firmware. I had to leave my N80 with a SIM in, and set to General profile (i.e. not offline).
I got the prommer version error but continued anyway and it worked fine.

Thanks for that. I did try File > Scan Product first but it couldn't detect my phone details...

I managed to solve this problem. First of all I downloaded the BB5 Reaper guide from an alternative source and this was very useful. The thing I had done wrong previously is not installing the nokia cable drivers. Another thing to watch out for is only to install the Firmware on your PC after you have installed Phoenix etc. Scan Product should then be able to locate your phone...Hope this helps...
