N80 O2 Firmware Upgrade — Nokia N80 — All About Symbian Forum Archive

Has anyone with an O2 branded N80 successfully upgraded to the lastest O2 branded firmware.
My N80 has been at a service centre for the pass 2 days and I've just got it back with the same FW as before, they're now telling that this is the lastest version available.

My Nokia N80 is on 02 and I had it done a couple days ago at a Nokia Service Centre shop, it took them 30 minutes while i waited. I suggest you try finding another Nokia Service Centre who know what they are talking about.

I've spoke to 2 service centres now, 1 in Birmingham (where I took it) and 1 in Coventry who also have the old version.

EDIT: did they flash yours with a generic FW or a O2 one?

I tracked down my nearest Nokia Service Centre via the attached link. I phoned them to ensure they had the latest firmware before I took it into the shop personally.

Can you tell me which NSC you're using... I want to get my Orange n80 flashed with generic firmware if possible. I'm in between Brum and Cov.

I had mine done in Warrington which I think maybe a bit far to travel from Birmingham. I can give you the details of the shop if you want.

My phone now displays:

V4.0623.0.41

RM-92
Nokia N80 (01)

I think its a genric firmware for the phone

Warrington is a bit too far for me. I might just upgrade it myself.

well I upgraded mine with generic firmware, went without a hitch! didnt even have to back anything up! im on o2 as well.

Anyone know of a better place to get "phoenix_service_sw_2004_39_7_70.exe" and "phoenix_service_sw_2006_12_5_136.exe " that dogtoe site is very slow.
