as topic says really I have never used this button, it doesnt seem to do sod all when pressed. its the one on the left side bottom. its driving me nuts!
What is the crayon button used for?!
changes from alpha mode to number mode, can be used to copy and paste things, and to highlight lines of txt (for quick deletion etc) 😊
And also for changing the text writing language (T9 dictionary).
ukmic, this might be an unusual suggestion, but in the sales package of the phone there actually was a little booklet that was titled a User's Guide. It might be surprising, but many things you can with your phone is actually explained there. 😉
The temptation of using such an "experimental" device was great, I had to seize the moment and charge the appliance before it escaped. When the item had completed its charging cycle the box was filed and removed from view, thus removing the instructions of such a potent device. I prefer the hands on approach with a phone :P
There's an online user manual link listed in one of the sticky threads at the top of this forum that may prove useful for spur of the moment experimenting.
Personally I tend to fiddle around with new phones for a week without the manual and then look through it - it's amazing how many functions you can miss when playing 😃
i have had s60 phones since 6600 > 6680 and now n80 so i am familiar with most of the features 😊
one usefull thing i discovered was that if you use the 'crayon' to change it to text input for the 'to' entry when composing an SMS then you can just type in the name from your contacts instead of having to search through the address book....
I dont know if anyone has already posted this but i just thought i would share 😃
yep i use that a lot 😃
Also, you dont have to put the persons full name, just put an 'S' or whatever and when you press send it will give a list of names to choose from beginning with 'S' or if you only have one person starting with an 'S' then it will fill in and send automatically, OR you can put a 'St' and then if you have more than one person starting with an 'S' but only one starting 'St' then it will fill in like that also, very useful 😊
