We have a mobile video and audio streaming site that we like to know if the N80 works with. I've been thinking about buyng an N80 but want to make sure that it will stream our 3gp files from our site.
So if someone with a N80 could vist our site and give it a try that would be great. Access is free and only data fees might apply depending on your data plan with your carrier.

Thanks in advance!!
I clicked on a 3gp link in the Music Video section, it started RealPlayer then it played the video w/o problem. I've tried it on WLAN, not on 3G.
I went into most of the sections and was able to view the videos or listen to the music. Some of the videos could be in better quality especially for the N80 though.
Could only test using WLAN, due to lack of 3G in USA 😞
Using standard browser that the N80 comes equipped with, you cant even scroll to the links, it sticks to the burger king ad! Might be better if that ad was at the bottom of the links. No I DONT want a croissan'wich!
EDIT:Works now.

This is BS. Are you talkin about the Web browser?
dont work for me, i get on the site and everythng fine but then when i click a vid or music, realplayer come up and said connection neded, conect? like it does when the web browser is started then once it has found a connecion, "loading appears but doesnt do anythng, then just goes back to the website
RealPlayer needs some UDP port to be open, probably your service provider blocks 'em
I tried via Three UK, and couldnt get it to work.
Via WIFI it worked once I had opened up the relevant UDP ports on my router.
Got no 3G thanks to being on Orange with a sim free phone :frown:, but works fine on WLAN.
Didn't have to open any router ports, but I did have to configure RealPlayer on the N80 to set a default access point (once I could find RealPlayer). A bit annoying that it only connects to the default rather than asking as I don't want it connecting to the default always, but anyway I guess that's an N80 issue.
Performance was pretty much good, with just a couple of glitches. That's on a 56g WLAN connecting over a 2Mbps ADSL connection.
That was using the standard browser. Using Opera though I couldn't get the 3GP links to do anything. That's the trial of the full Opera mobile edition, not Opera Mini (haven't tried it).
P.S. Love the Brazil music video (being a fan of the film of the same name 😃)
Good to hear that it works for most of you! Thanks for trying out the site. With the problem with the ad not allowing you to scroll down, you might want to try and reload the page. The ad shouldn't cause that kind of a problem... Since access to the videos and audio are free to consumers the ads are a way for us to pay to update the site and host it, hopefully it's not too much of a distraction. We love our sponsors and viewers!
So is the N80 worth it? Any other handsets from Nokia that would be better? We are based in the US and in an area where 3g isn't going to be installed for quite sometime and I'm in the market for a new GSM handset with a bunch of cool features. Right now I've been using a SE w600 which I like but could use one with more features.
I got the N80 mostly for the full internet support, WiFi, decent resolution screen and it's smartphone/PDA functionality. It pretty much does what I want and compared to my old 2G phone I like it. I'd say it's worth it, but then so are probably a lot of other similar phones.
For Internet use I'm more likely to use it in WiFi hotspots than use 3G (if I ever get 3G access) as data costs are extremely expensive on mobile operators. When they finally wake up and realise they can't just charge a fortune per MB then I might use 2/3G data more.
Hi there,
I'm on orange in the UK and have a full 3G signal at the minute. Using the 'Web' browser on my N80 your site works really well - looks neat and the videos stream really well too.
I like my N80 (although this is the third phone I'm on now). I've tried out most of the things it does successfully and after following some hints from lots of different forums have sorted out most of the problems.
Once again, I like your site and it seems to work very well, at least for me,
Dave.
