Hi everybody !!, first thanks to all for encouragments, help, report ....

I have just released FileExplorer 1.05 (christmas version !) always free ...
what's new :

* it's now possible to 'open' (ie view) a file with the related
application associated to this file (picture, sound ...) via
the menu or thru the 'enter button' of the joystick (middle)

* adding the send capabilities thru MMS and SMS,
WARNING : you can send only recognize type thru MMS and SMS,
example : picture thru MMS ...

* the submenu of the toggle of the light reflects now the state
of the light (if the light is ON, the submenu displays 'Light
OFF', otherwize, it displays 'Light ON'😉

* when the 'drives' (root) are displayed, the free memory
is displayed on the navigation pane.

* when you ask for the properties on a 'drive', the type of
the drive is displayed.

* in the properties of the file dialog box, the size of the file
in indicated.

* in the lists of the files, directories appear, now, first, before
the files.

* first release of the finnish version (thanks to
[email protected] for the translation)

* first release of the Italian version (thanks to Luca Borsetta
for translation)

The only major difference now between SeleQ and FE is the "Find/Search File"

I'm sure Domi will come up with something like that soon in his next versions 😃 😃

the 'find/search' function is nearly done and is in test for version 1.06 at home (maybe the new-year version ...) so stay tuned on 'All About Symbian' !!!!

hmm..i wonder.. why is SeleQ so much more bigger then this if it only has the extra search option?

It has its own little icons, and other cosmetic features like ability to set backgrounds, Keylock, Screenshots, ability for linking (Shortcuts), Restart Etc etc, which are not necessarily needed in file managers. And maybe their Registration Security stuff and such.

All these must have bloated the application a bit

sanjay2402, I have also my own icons in FileExplorer ... and the functions you describe don't take a lot of code (thanks to the symbian OS !!) - example : 'restart' take one of two lines of code ....

FExplorer is excellent, I just can't believe that there is an app like this in such a little memory (17 kb only), freeware and some features that SELEQ and others doesn't have it, I rate it 10/10.

Ahhh.. now i see the OPEN option 😃 . The last version seem to me that it's can not open any file in the folder or drives.

This application is FUCKING good, yes so good I hate to swear to emphasise my point.

Mate what else is there to say, this is a work of art, I just cant wait to see what you might come up with in the future when your done with this

...there are many reasons why an application may become bloated. It may be that some of the codes were made redundant, etc, etc. Now a good programmer should know his limitations in order to make an efficient app. It is apparent that DOMI is a very good developer.

If there's an idea or two, we could ask you to create new apps for us.

Currently, companies are giving out PDA+MobilePhone to its Mobile employees. Having a combined PDA+Mobilephone such as 7650, P800 allows the developer companies to make database applications to pharmaceutical companies for one. We need new applications. 😃

So many possibilities...
