Im in urgent need of a way to record phone conversations on my Nokia N80 but cant find out how!
My mate can record on his N70 which I find bizarre, but cant find a way for the N80. Is there a built in function or any free software someone knows of to do this?
Cheers!

Buy eRecorder by Psiloc at http://shop.psiloc.com I think it was about 12
If you set it to record to the memory card, you could record hours of conversation.
ive got best call recorder from series60v3.com but havent tried it out yet
Is there any free recorder?
(...or any way to get any recorder for free, if you understand the difference..)
"In urgent need" but not urgent to the tune of £12, huh?

Hey would you dish out 12 when an easier, and cheaper solution is just 15-20min max internet browsing away?
Yeah, didn't think so.
The only program I bought is AgileMessenger, and thats because it's a quality program which nothing is really up to par with.
Use the native recorder.
Assign the quadrangle button (right half of centre bottom button) to 'Record'.
Then when in phone conversation, press and hold the button and the record panel will come up, then press the enter button and record for 60 sex.

I just tried it and it really doesn't suit the task.
Let's say you're in a call and want to record it.
You open the app, but then you've got to scroll about to find the record option - whereas with the native app, the record panel comes up and you only have to press enter.
Sure the one minute limitation sux to high heaven, but it still beats scrolling around for that record option.
Just my $0.02's worth.
The "best call recorder" app works great!
You just go into settings and set it up to your choices.
Then when an incoming call is recieved the phone asks if you want to record ( y or n ) then asks if you want to recieve call ( y or n ) so theres NO scrolling around messing with the app!
Records incoming and outgoing calls... fucking bang on!

Sure, but we need a Symbian 3rd Edition app.

That would depend on the value of the software to me, the value of the 15-20 minutes, and the value of not feeling like a parasite.
If I would have paid £12 for this app, I would have been very disappointed now that i've discovered a bug. Already. Haven't even tried it out yet. (I have a history of programming and debugging..)

Read the manual shmuck! 😎
eRecorder settings can be configured to AUTOMATICALLY record all calls.

I suggest you do the same before insulting your superiors.
You can set it to record calls - but it then records ALL calls ... but who'd want to do that except a c**t who calls others schmuck because he thinks they're as dumb as he is ?
Still, the 1 minute limit makes the built-in one useless, retard.
come on guys...let not degenerate this friendly and helpfull board into what most other boards on the internet have become, a place to slag off and insult each other ...
Live life...be happy 😊...
p.s. I am not trying to be patronising or condacending (hope I spelt that correctly)

I have to say, this is the first time I've encountered this kind of thing here.
When I first read the insults, I thought he must be drunk - not least because the 'informational' content of his post was also clearly a bit dumb.
I'm putting this idiot on ignore, as he clearly has nothing of value to contribute.
Initially, I thought about reporting his attitude to the mods - but I hate netcops and don't intend to become one anytime soon.

I suggest you edit your posting to remove the offending word unless you wish an official complaint raised.
Back on topic though, I believe the original poster to this thread wanted to automatically record calls?
If I misunderstood, I apologise to the readers of this thread.

I suggest you reserve your pious admonitions for the individual who started throwing the insults around.
Ker-PLONK !
Getting away from the insults now... how do you stop the intermittent "beeping" when your phone is recording a message?
Id be interested to know if it can be stopped, or if ( likely ) its a legal requirement so that the other party knows theyre being recorded.
My employer is trying to bully me, hence I wish to record all conversations covertly for my own safety and legal comeback.
Cheers!

I don't have an answer on the beeping front, but be advised that AFAIK any party being recorded must be advised as such (hence the warning when you phone a call centre). The difficulty here then is that for you to use your recorded conversations with your employer legally you will need to let him / her know that they are being recorded.
Perhaps a better option might be to try and get this person to hassle you by email (I've won some very satisfying political victories at work that way)?
Alternatively you could make a point of mentioning (in earshot of witnesses) that you've started recording phone conversations because you've had some malicious calls...
Either way I hope you get things resolved and that someone here can advise you re: the beeping..

Try one of the other apps for non-beeping recording.
I think it's only for criminal purposes (rather than civil) that third parties have to be warned about recording.
And even if it's not, you can always say that they were warned prior to recording, that they were about to be recorded.
If you're at the evidence gathering stage, maybe you should think about chalking it up and moving on to greener pastures.
Sounds advice folks thanks very much. Failing all else, ill be using the Ipod as a dictaphone with the help of my Belkin add-on. 30gb of recording then 😊
Cheers
