Hi there,
I have some gripes about this "3 Megapixel" camera on the N80.
I previously had a Nokia 6680 with a 1.2 MP camera and a Nokia 7610 with a 1MP camera, and both produce cleaner clearer pictures then what I have managed to get in my 2 weeks as a N80 owner.
Am I doing something wrong?
I have attached a picture of the TV in the bedroom in normal daylight. (Same problems occure in better lighting) You can see the strange colouration and lack of definition in the picture.

The 2nd picture is from my 6680 in dull daylight out in the Chiswick area - Notice that there is clarity and no abnormal colouration.

(Although it might be hard to see as flickr have resized the picture.)
Also for the record I have done a hard reset recently.
Hi
If you do a search you will see that there was quite a lot of complaints re the camera quality. As far as I can see the problems is the internal workings of the phone and not the lens, hopefully someone else will confirm this.
Your not alone with this one, do not know if the upgrades will solve this.

I don't think its that bad - it has to be in good light as it can't focus... (a manual focus would have been better than fixed focus) and some of the pics I have had, have been great.
My 6630 camera quality did seem better, but if I blow them up - in good light, the N80 are better everytime.
See what is the firmware version of your phone. Seems the last one 4.xx have some improvements!
Plus, unfortunately, the N80 doesn't have the Carl Z workings that others (eg, the N73) have. This does make a huge difference - I found my N70 took better pictures.
I suppose Nokia would say that the N80 isn't so geared towards multi-media (though this goes against the inclusion of Wi-Fi) but TBH I'd have preferred to pay a little more for the 'full package'
The N80 is a "multimedia computer" with crap camera LOL
I have the v3.0618.0.2 RM-92 (45.02) "3" firmware.
Going to get it upgraded from my local carphone warehouse to a v4 firmware ("3" firmware).
Hopefully that will improve the camera.
Abit off topic but does going for the generic firmware have any issues over going for the operator specific firmware (in this case 3's firmware)?
