The ability to stream your own personal media content from a base station to a remote device is now coming to Symbian OS through the SlingMedia Player. Wow... If they can get away with the legal issues, this is a huge step for Mobile TV, another small step for the mankind.. 😊

ps. Off topic: when will we see the E50 review?

Very cool feature. If it's very easy to set up, and if the base station costs a reasonable price, it could become very popular indeed, and a much better way of implementing mobile TV than operator downloads or DVB-H.

I have very strong feelings that 3 has an exclusive on the mobile sling player. If you live in the US or Canada you buy the player from sling. For those of us in the UK who are not on the 3 network (and I certainly wouldn't move to 3 ffom past experiences with them) we can not buy the player.

I use the SlingPlayer on an HTC Tytn using the Orange 3G network and it works superbly. Seems widely availabel for download and not limited to the 3 Network.
