It's been out a week or two. I have it on my generic N80.
:icon14:
It's a minor upgrade.
i posted this a week ago lads, heres the thread http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/52445/
it's really easy to do via FOTA if you have it on your phone, thats what i did and also used wlan for quicker connection, file is only 1mb over FOTA vs 100mb flashing it, but its whether its enabled yet in your variant
Quick question for those who've moved from .41 to .42...
Does this minor upgrade wipe the phone again?
I'm interested in an answet to Taz's question.
And.. FOTA...how do I enable?

Doesn't seem to be available for my generic N80 (nordic). NSU says that no new versions available and FOTA says "interrupted by server".
I'm still on v 4.0623.0.41,
and when searching for the update with fota it tells me no updates are available.
It's generic firmware also.
Not too fussed honestly,
I would prefer to wait a month or two and have a new firmware released with the FP1 browser on it.
🙄 I'm allowed to hope ain't I

Same for me, I'm on the Euro 1 .41 Firmware and whenever I go to the FOTA updates it tells me there's no updates available. Weird :frown:
Nokia's Software Updater is still pushing .41.
I wasn't paying attention when looking for updates and wound up reinstalling .41 again, leading to a messed up Access Points configuration once I'd restored my backup.
The phone then locked me out of Access Points altogether , meaning I had to spend about 3 1/2 hours setting everything back up again! Smooth....😡 although at least the hard reset means my phone setup is squeaky clean.. 🙄
Think I'll hang on for the v5 now lol.
I flashed this morning using FOTA over wireless braodband.
download took about 30 sec, it then asked if I would like to install.
I selected yes, phone rebooted and installed the updated firmware in about 2-3 minutes.
No settings were changed, all my software is still there, all contacts still there.
went from v 4.0623.0.41 to
v 4.0623.0.42

Well after the other day I saw this and thought "What the hell" and tried FOTA over my wifi. Completely painless upgrade to .42, no loss of settings or data. Lovely..
Only thing of note was that the server rejected my first attempt at connection but gave it up on the next connection attempt.
Job done - think I'll stick to FOTA in the future..

It's MENU > CONNECT > DEV. MGR.
