Vodafone Live 7650

I can't find the previous post on this but just to recap, I had claimed that vodafone were locking all 7650's, rebadging them and disabling IrDa transfers.

It appears that I was wrong. They have rebadged them and started network locking their stock but they haven't blocked the IrDa port. It has been done on the Sharp GX-10, Motorola T720i & Panasonic GD87 though.

Apologies if I mislead anyone with this bit of wayward info.

Whoops,

If anyone from Vodafone reads this sorry for all of the abuse

I guessed you were a fan of real music by the username but your new image proves it! 😃

Jay-Z hu?

May sound silly, but I had the username J2theIZZO before the Blueprint came out, i'm not that bigger fan of Jay-Z anymore, he flows great....But there are better out there 😉

Time for a username change me thinks :P

I've heard that there are operators that disable bluetooth, imagine that.
Can i sue my operator for such an action? 😃

I've never heard of an operator that disables bluetooth 😮 . I think you mean that some content providers like Walt Disney Co. don't distribute their content onto devices that have bluetooth to prevent sharing of the content.

Why on earth would they do such things? Disabling Bluetooth and so forth! Wow - At least no one does that in UK, My 7650 was locked to Voda and I was a bit angry so they *unlocked it free* of charge for me! And damn right they should! If they gave me the phone *free* on contract then i dont mind but if i pay so much as a penny my phone better not have any damn freggin locks onit. :x

I've read it in a thread here, someone posted that his friends nokia 7650 has had bluetooth disabled by his operator.

Check the Lox' latest album. Or go out on a limb and get Sean Paul's, its an eclectic mix of R&B, Hip Hop and Bashment. Busta Rhymes' newest is good too.

I've a mate who gets his mix tapes within 48 hours of them dropping in the US. It looks like Jay Z's on his way out...

I feel like I should comment on mobiles now. 😊

Vodafone plan to rebadge and possibly rebrand many upcoming models. It looks to be one of the next profit making techniques for the networks. Intergrating the GPRS WAP pages with the menu's so the user is unaware they've gone online generates a lot of revenue. Examples of this are the Orange SPV, Vodafone GX-10, O2 GX-1, T-Mobile i28 & O2 xda.

Zipper,

how did you get it unlocked for free? unfortunately for me, i only found out about the network lock after i came to malaysia, and now i can't use the phone here.

my ir and bluetooth seems to work ok.

Ultraman, you can have it unlocked remotely from the UK. I suggest www.dvds2000.co.uk or www.logosunlimited.co.uk

You may need a british bank account for DVDs2000 as they use Nochex, but Logosunlimited will take Visa/Mastercard

are these people trustworthy, i hope they would not use my details illegaly. :-?

give me details of the process you took. [email protected]

I had my 7650 unlocked by my network, I have had 5 other 7650's unlocked by a combination of both companies. I use DVD's 2000 for all my unlocking needs, they are very reliable.
