Umm... I just called Nokia too, as i'm typing this, and was told it was still 3.16 :-?. Also i was given a replacement phone last tuesday (freshly flashed ofcourse) and it was 3.16

Strange :-?

Just curious, but what are you going to do with all this info? I have 3.16. Anybody suggest an upgrade? I've never faced any problems, except that when I try installing some apps, the phone hangs and slowly just dies.

A restart and then removal of that program solves the problem.

Well...nothing serious. Just curious of the availibility.
As regards the upgrading, there's no point upgrading just for the heck of it, if the present one is doing fine. Specially so in the absence of any obvious addons in the newer ones. And newer versions need not always necessarily be stable. My 3.12 was more stable than the later 2 handsets which had 3.16 ( i find it pretty buggy)

Certainly, the visit to NSC just for the feelgood factor is not worth it.

here in Manila as my cousin Sinister mentioned, some 7650's already have 4.39, im still on 3.12, never really had any probs with it so wont bother upgrading (i think). the only thing i have to watch out for the 3.12 (as for any 3.12 users out there) is the full-memory-phone-can't-run-shit problem. other than that, im happy with it. 8)

Bulgaria: V3.75
The V4.37 is also available but is not recomended for free(not operators) phones. It is recomended only for Vodafone or Orange users(according to NSC).

4.26 in South Africa, and Nokia tells me 4.37 will come out later this month (its in Beta testing atm). Just curious, why are some software types for free/payed phones or certain operators?

The arrangement provides for a USP for the operator, and a defined returns for their ware for the developers (contract selling). This is supposed to work out cheaper/free for the subscribers of that network, but usually means non availability of that particular software to other users for a certain minimum length of time.

I think the 4.... whatever SW is for Languages that are not supported from 3.16,most people have the 3.16 so i guess that the latest SW available...i havent heard any differences in the 4.?? SW versions,(eg bug fixes)
