Nokia N80 Browser Question

5 replies · 2,288 views · Started 22 November 2006

I love the built in nokia browser...
I surf the web a lot and I need to be able to download web images to my memory card. I usually just right click on the image on my PC then click save.
is there a right click on the nokia browser? how can I save the images?

The N80 browsers ("Web" or "Services"😉 do not, unfortunately, have any feature to save images off web pages.

You could try Opera, instead.

I don't know if it has such a feature, either, as I haven't used it on any S60 3rd Ed. phone, and as I have yet to come across any picture on a web site that I'd wish to save on my phone.

Opera works fine for saving/storing pictures. You also get the option to MMS that photo straight from the web page.

is there a way to do it with built in browser?
i like it better than Opera and I don't really want to pay for Opera.
I'll try it for 30 days... i wish Nokia Browser can do this 😞

There is a way to save images using the N80's built in browsers. Remember your phone has two different browsers. I assume you use the one called 'Web' which is Nokia's new fancy web browser based on Safari code. This browser can't download images. However, if you use the old original Nokia WAP/html browser, called 'Services', to browse the same web page you can then choose:

Options (press left soft key) > Tools > View Images > Choose your desired image, press ok > Options > Save

It's a bit of a fiddle but at least you are using built in applications and you won't have to install any 3 party apps.

Opera Mini for mobile allows you to download the pic to send it, but not right click it and its free... One drawback tho on that is that sometimes (more often than not) it closed the opera browser!?!?:icon13:

The download tho, looks like its done thru services, so you maybe able to copy the address of the image when your browsing with nokia browser and then open a new window with that address... see if that downloads it?
