stuclark wrote:Please post known Nokia N71 / N73 Product Codes in this thread. Please state for each product code which phone / network / region it is for.
For example:
0539101: N73 - Vanilla - EURO 1
0539343: N73 Music Edition - Vanilla - EURO 1
0539239: N73 Music Edition - Vanilla - EURO 2 (Black)
I guess the "For example" above, was meant literally! I changed my product code to 0539343 to upgrade to V 4.0812.4.2.1 (after being stuck on the pulled V 4.0750.... for a while now), only to discover after the upgrade that it is a Chinese product code!
So now I'm stuck with English and Chinese only T9. The Chinese "dictionary" is so big, that there was only about 8mb of phone memory available after the install.
The phone's font also changed. And I have to say that I almost prefer the font used in this firmware. The T9 however is not what I want, since I use the Dutch predictive input.
Oh well. Probably have to wait around for a new ME reslease...
Anyone know if you can use Nemesis Service Suite to change the Firmware Version "info" and trick NSU into thinking you have an older version?
Cheers
Ive got a Aussie Optus branded N73 which is unlocked and has these settings:
RM133
V3.0704.10.1
Nokia N73(94.01)
prod code 0540032
Frankly, i have been trying to wait for a new firmware for this version phone for forever. the UI is slow, has camera sound, blue tint camera, laggy in general etc and i want to see what i can get out of the phone before i eventually change it.
So, what would be my best option? what firmware should i install? there are soo many out there and i dont know which product code to use with NSS, so please shed some light for me.
This is a 3G phone and i occasionally use it with my "3" sim in australia. Also, by changing firmware would i lock the phone or something? I may have to use random sims in it, such as going overseas etc.
if i change to a different code, and it doesnt work properly with my sim cards again, can i change it back to my original product code and install original firmware?
Also is the music edition firmware better?
actually just found out music edition will get rid of my shortcut key on the side and will become a dedicated music player button. Is this true of the new firmwares as well? Otherwise i may try to instead update to an internet edition firmware?
Any suggestions? i wouldnt mind getting a chinese(traditional) language pack as well.
I am thinking of using this:
0539366 - Hong Kong version region 14 (English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese input)
What is region 14? any shortcoming of using that product code? the newest fw for that is 4.0812.4.3.1
Hey guys. I got my N73 last week in Australia from Vodafone. It is a Vodafone branded phone and my firmware says....
V 3.0704.1.0.1
19-01-2007
RM-133
Code - 0539397
Model: N73 - 1
Since vodafone most likely will never accept the latest firmware, I've heard that using some program I can change my product code and then the update should work. What I want to know is, since I am in Australia, which product code should I change it to? Also, can I definately change the product code back to the one on the sticker behind the battery?
Thanks

I need a product code to Middle east product code
I don't know how it was but first day I switched on my phone, logo was corrupted (strange symbols). I thought it was the sim card, i tried the same sim in another phone and i could see my logo. I called my phone company and they did something and I only had to reboot phone to get changes and have logo again. Maybe it's a clue for an expert to show you how to do it. If not, I've shared my experience with all of you! 😊
Rgds!

Hey guys. I have N73 Music Edition and I have it for about a year now. I know all of them have same hardware only firmwares are different. I dont use Music button on music edition so I was thinking that I should change my firmware to Internet Edition or Normal N73. Any suggestions on performance differences or anything how do N73 owner see difference between them. Thanks.
