yahoo go on n80

guys pls help me im new here and not so good with the technical terms. can someone help me on how i can install the yahoo go on n80. i went to yahoo.com and yahoo go apparently doesnt support the n80 cell phone but i saw a post here that they can install yahoo go on their n80 by installing the latest firmware on the n80. what is a firmware and where can i get this latest firmware for my n80. also where do i download the yahoo go that will be compatible to my n80 with the latest firmware.. pls try to give instructions step by step because i am really not the best gadget person.. thank you so much

Your first point of call should be the nokia website use the free software there (NSS) to update the latest firmware.

You need the sis file to install the program. Search the forum as I posted a link a while back. I can't remember where I got it from to tell you now, sorry.

I have Yahoo Go .sis. Email me and I'll send it over, it's too large to attach on the forum. I use it on my N73 and N80 without problem. Just copy it to your memory card, and install it using the file manager.

yahoo!go is available to DL here @ http://www.meranokia.com/apps/ygo.sis

You need to go there with your Services browser not Opera etc. etc.

I have this problem, but only on my home network, when I am out in different hotspot it works fine, so I am not too worried because I have the messenger on the PC, maybe worth you trying in a public hotspot to see if it works there.

I guess its a router problem, but not looked too much into it yet, when I get time I will.

infact I usually goes on line using either GPRS or 3G. it simply dun logs me on.

yeah, I noticed it didnt log Yahoo messenger on... I think that version I linked is only v3 tho... and they have a newer one out... which you can register for on the http://mobile.yahoo.com/go or whatever the link it...

apparently tho, N80 users are many, as they arent accepting any more beta tests for that phone yet

Are people still using the .sis file? Since Yahoo pulled support for it, most peple I know haven't been able to use it.

I still use it occassionally. Can't recall if I downloaded via a weblink on the phone or from a SIS file.
